“A great way to see the real outback.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

We couldn't be happier with our experience. Jane our driver, guide, provider of lunch was wonderful. The Windjana Gorge/Tunnel Creek tour is a long day but well worth it. The highlight of the day was seeing freshwater crocs in the wild and totally unperturbed by our presence. Tunnel Creek was a fantastic adventure. Halfway through the tunnel, knee deep in water and someone calls out 'crocodile'. Crikey! All part of the adventure. Sunset was absolutely amazing as we found our way back to Broome. Thank you Kimberley Wild for making our experience of the Kimberley an exciting and enjoyable one.

Thanks Rob S - I am so glad you enjoyed the Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek Adventure with us. It is a big day but so worth it to get out and experience a taste of the Kimberley wilderness. I hope you will come back one day and explore more of it with us :) Regards, Jen

“Windjarra and Tunnel Creek Day Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

I did the Windjara Gorge and Tunnel Creek day tour from Broome and had a fantastic time. Yes early morning rise but much better than the trip into work. The day is huge with lots of driving through the Kimberlley, if you have never seen this side of the country it is wonderful to see exactly how this great country is in the inner core. Brenton our guide, driver and head waiter was the best. We got an wonderful history lesson along the way and learnt so much about the history of this great land. Make sure you take reefers with you to walk through the caves those who didn't missed out or did it the hard way. pre information on what you should take could be a bit more clearer. Went in mid September it was hot but plenty of cold water and food on hand. Sit back relax and enjoy don't stress about the long day (17 hours) all is worth it and great time to chill learn and reflect on the amazing history of this place. Great trip and would recommend it to all. Thanks Brenton you made it a very special trip and your patience with those not so prepared or relax was great. Thank Deb

Thanks for your feedback Deb! Glad you enjoyed your Day Tour to Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek with Brenton and Kimberley Wild. It is a big day - but through a wild and rugged landscape with a fascinating history, so we agree it is all worthwhile! We do try to make pre information about the shoes very clear - and remind people the day prior to travel - but will certainly look at other ways we can ensure our travellers are well prepared :) All the best!

“Our wonderful driver/guide/chef/story teller made all the difference!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Kudos to the Kimberley Wild team for organizing such an amazing trip. There were 7 of us on this 9 day camping adventure and when we found out that there were in total 20 in our group with only 1 person to look after us - driver, guide, chef, counsellor etc (everything rolled into 1 person!), we were a little concerned. Ria - our wonderful all-in-1 extrodinaire guide proved to be simply amazing. Our 4WD people mover was full, with not a vacant seat and so we began our journey as total strangers with the other 13 people on the tour but ended up firm friends, in no small part due to the leadership, camaraderie and enthusiasm of Ria.

None in our group opted for the upgraded version of the tour so everyone camped (albeit, a few of us paid the extra $100 for a campbed and this was well worth the money and I would recommend this option to anyone doing the tour). Ria managed to persuade us all to forgo the tents and we ended up spending all our nights (except 2 nights in the Bungle Bungle permanent tents) sleeping in the open under the stars. This was an amazing experience - falling asleep under the blanket of stars and the moon. Magical!

The logistics of the trip was so well handled - Ria had everything systematically organized and our daily camp set ups and morning pack ups went flawlessly from Day 1. Everyone pitched in and it ran like clockwork! Our meals were also ample and fresh. Breakfast and lunches were simple affairs but everything was fresh and delicious. It is so amazing that at the end of each day, after a hard day's drive, touring & story telling, Ria somehow managed to create these wonderful homecooked meals for all 21 of us. The variety was amazing - from a typical Aussie BBQ to pasta, green chicken curry and my favourite the Moroccan lamb. All were delicious and well balanced meals.

Safety is a major concern and Ria was tops in this area - ensuring all the way that each and every one on the tour was safe and she had her eye on everyone of us. The highlight though (other then the wonderful breathtaking scenery) was her wealth of information on the local legends, topographical and geological history and all things indigenous (including bush tucker and bush medicine). Her enthusiasm was infectious and I am sure all 20 in the group would agree.

This is not a tour for the timid - to fully enjoy this tour, it does require a certain level of fitness and willingness to "rough" it out. Yes, we were bitten by mossies, irritated by flies at times and had to use public facilities at our camp sites - but overall it was all very good. The level of hygiene and cleanliness was terrific and we met so many wonderful and interesting people on the way. I would highly recommend visiting the Kimberley area and Kimberley Wild Adventures is the best!

Thank you to the entire team for putting out such a wonderful trip, particularly Ria who made the tour extra special and really made all the difference - a stellar job!

“Great Trip with Jason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

We did the the 9Day Kimberley Loop leaving Broome on 20 August with Jason our Guide, Driver, Chef, Storyteller and much more. Jason worked 16 hours a day making sure we did everything promised and more. The meals were ample, fresh, healthy and well presented especially considering the remote locations along The Gibb River Road etc.

We were on the same trip as "Delighted Travellers" Rita and Norm and absolutely agree with their wonderful review.

This trip is not for those who like their 5 star comforts as even those who ungraded (an extra $500 approx) still had nights when they had to erect their own tents, swags, sleeping bags etc and then pack them up in the morning before breakfast. We paid an extra $50 per person for the whole trip for Jumbo Stretcher Beds which were great to sleep on and meant we had a tent we could stand up in and more room for storage. Well worth the extra money.

A reasonable level of fitness of fitness is required for the hikes which are not long but many are in very difficult terrain which require proper hiking boots. Jason always gave a detailed description of each walk so people could decide whether they would try part of or the whole walk or maybe have a rest or go for a swim.

The Kimberley is a fantastic part of Australia and we believe that it would have taken us many more days to try and cover the 2500k we travelled and find all the gorges and attractions we saw if we had tried to do it ourselves - let alone the wear and tear on any vehicle we used. The Kimberley Wild Tour has to be the most efficient and cheapest way to see this part of Australia.

Jason did a fantastic job and is a wonderful representative of Australian Tourism.

“Amazing holiday, great operator”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

I booked on the 12 day Kimberley Explorer trip. This included 3 days up to Cape Leveque then 9 days out along the Gibb River Road and back along the Great Northern Highway.

I loved everything about my trip! Impressive organisation from food to equipment to bus swap when we had mechanical issues. The itinerary was fantastic and included all the key things that you'd want to see in this area. The food was great and there was lots of it. The private safari camp at the Bungle Bungles was lovely.

Our guides were brilliant. It can't be easy juggling the many hats of guide, driver, chef, first aider, etc. They made everything run smoothly, looked after us very well and, with the stunning scenery and my new road trip buddies, made the trip what it was.

I would do it all again, worth every dollar.
