“Nice end to a great holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

Stayed here with a group for 3 nights at the end of a Kimberly tour. Hotel is very swish and new. I had a ground floor room and courtyard which looked across to one of the pools. The room was very big and comfortable and I had a huge king size bed all to myself. The bathroom was ok however the shower cubicle didn’t have a door that could be closed so consequently the floor got pretty wet. I had problems with the temperature of the water – a cold shower first thing in the morning isn’t the best way to start my day. The hot water was fine during the day, just didn’t come on in the morning. Some of our group mentioned it to reception but they weren’t very interested. The hotel setting is very nice and the pool we all swam in was refreshing on a hot day. The location is great as there is a mini supermarket and a souvenir shop across the road, as well as a bottle shop and cafe. It’s a pleasant walk to Town Beach and I also explored the museum across the road which is well worth a visit. The only down side to my stay was the staff. The bar staff had a couldn’t care less attitude and several times when I went to buy a drink I had to wait while one finished her glass of water and another time a new staffer was being trained on the register by 3 other staff and the customers just had to stand and wait. Reception also need to up their game and remember they work in the tourist industry. Asking for anything was greeted with a look of surprise that anyone would actually expect them to help out the guests. The resort is a beautiful place to stay but the staff in the more remote hotels we stayed at were much more professional and really helpful.

We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at Oaks Broome.

It is lovely to note that the apartment you were allocated was suitable for your needs and the resort location was perfect for you to explore the local area.

We have discussed the hot water situation with the Hotel Manager and have been advised that a number of hot water units have been recently replaced.

We also discussed the customer service you received from both Bar & Reception staff and your feedback will be forwarded onto our Learning & Development and Food & Beverage departments for further training.

We do appreciate your honest feedback and look forward to welcoming you back to Oaks Broome in the near future.

We had a two bed apartment for 2 adults and 2 children which was great for us - lots of room, washing machine and tumble drier and 3 TVs!! Swimming pool great - a good size. We walked into China Town from the hotel. There is also a regular bus service from just outside hotel to China Town and Cable Beach. A car isn't necessary for Broome itself. Hotel ideal for watching Staircase to the moon too.

I stayed at the oaks on a business trip it was comfortable and clean with a great restaurant. The only problem is they don't provide room service which was a pain. Although. Could order dinner and bring it to my room but I was given my plates with no tray to carry it comfortably. The receptionist were great by recommending and booking a day tour for me.

Stayed here for three nights on a recent business trip. There were a few tour groups staying plus a few singles on business. Room (think suite) was excellent - includes kitchen area, laundry, separate lounge area with DVD and CD players, two flat-screen TV's, jacuzzi in bathroom etc etc. Water pressure in shower a bit pathetic but this may not be hotel fault. Ambiance of hotel modern and clinical but it was clean. Service was fine generally. Breakfast perfectly adequate with a small hot buffet with all the usual fare. Dined in once - varied menu, decent-sixed portions - won't win too many culinary prizes but pretty good. Didn't try the pool but it looked good. I'd be more than happy to stay again and will do so - will take DVD's and CD's as well next time.

Reception staff rude n not willing to listen to guests, would rather talk to their visiting friends n chat about the races I particularly think Amanda from reception needs to do some training on customer service besides this hotel is nice shame the first impression is not always the best, I have worked in tourism for over 10 years the way she spoke to us was not provoked and completely unnecessary, besides bad front office staff the oaks is a nice hotel, nice pool n good location

We had a great 1 bedroom at ground level. Facilities are excellent. We found the location to be excellent near town beach. It is a newly built complex and was excellent value for money.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2011

I stayed at the Oaks for the 1 night for business . My company books through them a lot of the time. It is a nice resort with 2 lovely pools. The rooms are comfortable , the downside is their is no room service! Strange for a 4 star resort. Also when i approached the reception desk if i could order from the restraunt , they stated yes . Then i asked the the waitress if i could order a meal she stated i could only have the buffet dinner which was $25 . I only wanted a sandwich but she was informed by the chef i had to order the buffet.

Also in my fridge was a broken glass that had been left their and had not been thrown out. Over all the resort is pleasent and comfortable.
