“Best value with a pool when we stayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

We ended up staying a week on a powered site and were happy with that. Not too much grass about but the army of caretakers and gardeners do their best with what they have. This is a very well run camp and very well suited if you are a Cable Beach lover. We were not particularly so had to travel the five kilometres back and forth to the town however this was no drama. The pool was lovely although busy and sure to get a whole lot busier in The Season. We would be happy to stay here again although would consider something more central if it were available. We paid $39 which is steep but this is Broome.

We have stayed at Palm Grove several times now and have booked again for this August which we are really looking forward to. We also have had the unfortunate experience of being put in the overflow section which is not a lot of fun as other reviews have commented. We ended up there because we didn't book early enough and that was the only site they could offer us. You need to book way in advance to get the good sites - we booked a year ago now! We like Palm Grove as it's so conveniently located to the beach. No complaints about the facilities at all and we like being in a smaller park. Ask for the shady sites when booking as we've heard from friends how hot their caravans got in the sun - probably the only downside to the caravan park. Go and enjoy! This review is based on our stay there in August 2012.

We stayed in a powered site for 2 weeks in June. The reception staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The park was neatly maintained and we found the amenties to be clean and tidy for the duration of our stay. With small kids, we did need to drive to the beach, but it would be possible to walk to Cable Beach which is directly across the road. The park was reasonably shady but we were unfortuante to land a site which got all the afternoon sun (and we don't have an air conditioner). Other than this, we enjoyed our stay at this park and would be happy to recommend this park to others.

We stayed here for two nights in a tent on a powered site..... Reception staff appear friendly but the site is looking tired. (The reception office does not represent the tiredness of parts of the site).. However Palm Grove is nicely located and the beach (Cable Beach) is not far and is spectacular although the safe swim area small...

The kitchens are ok but a tad run down and basic. The shower blocks are ok and facilities on site are all in place but for the main need updating or tidying. The cleaning team are evident but items used to clean appear as cheaper end of range. Campers kitchen was basic and could have done with a good deep clean throughout.... In a caravan you may get a different perspective, but if you are in a tent don't expect too much from the kitchen...its all there but very well used.. The site can also be noisy late at night ( no fault of the site) but music from the two local pubs and various things and events that go on, on the beach late at night do travel sound wise and can appear as coming from site which it is not....

The lay out of the site is also strange and many of the sites are on shell/small stone...
where there is green mating laid for some sites they are old and very ripped...which means you are sleeping on lumps and bumps especially if you are in a tent. Some of the general paved areas are also high making it difficult to drive on and off of.
Nice pool on site but seemed strong with chlorine and at times a little cloudy??
Overall the stay was ok, but facility standards on site disappointing, especially as a caravaner had recommended the site..... .

Room Tip: Make sure you go to the beach and checkout the miles and miles of dunes and shoreline. There is a...

I nearly cancelled our booking due to the small amount of negatives on 'tripadvisor'. We were worried but I'm glad we didnt!! It is a terrific park. Stayed two weeks, lovely all day shade on large gravel site (no red dust), opposite amenity block which was clean & never full. Laundry good size, staff friendly, pool small but rarely over crowded. Opposite Cable Beach, small walk over dune- beautiful. Cafe excellent next door, gr8 food & mini golf for kids. We stayed over peak during Broome Cup, wouldnt know it was full. Nice little park. No permanents, regulars nice. Pros: location. Cons: expensive. Yes, overflow area is red dust & opp Divers Tavern so if you don't like it, then select another site or move on, but it doesn't warrant all the negative comments. Older park, just has a pool for kids, mini golf but we're here for the beach! Nothing flash, Divers Tavern a little noisy on Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun nights 7-11pm (live music) but didnt impact us. Lovely place to stay, would recommend. We have 2A, 3C in Jayco expanda. Site fits van, awning then car, gr8. Our site was #132.

We booked over a month in advance but were still placed in the overflow block and walking around there seemed to be many nicer sites empty all week, the overflow is right next to Divers Tavern which has loud entertainment late most nights, this didn't bother me too much, but family's left the week we were there because of this and nobody seemed to stay more than a night when they found out the location, it's also right next to the cafe so the flood lights from thier mini golf stay on until around 8, the overflow area has a nice culdesac of shell grit to drive in on but the sites themselves are just red bull dust so prepare for this too be through everything you own, it would have been nice if the site had been covered with the shell also, and minimal shade in this area means you'll be in the sun most of the day unless you have good awnings, the location to cable beach and some of the bars is a positive as you can walk anywhere nearby and the bus runs right from the tavern outside, average at best for us young crew but hopefully you can get a site inside the park or you'll probably hate it

We had booked a site 5 months earlier but when we arrived we were put in the overflow area. Tiny cramped sites that barely fit the van and the car. Worst of all the site was next to the cafe so you heard the extractor fan buzzing all day. Then at night the live bands at the divers tavern kicked in and it was LOUD until at least 11pm every night of the week.
We cancelled the rest of our booking. We would rather camp beside the road then come back here.
