“Fantastic!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

Coco lounge is a nice restaurant situated on the busy central food hub of Glen Waverley. You really need to make a booking if you want to get a table inside. However, they have a large communal table that seats about 10 and a benches that face the street that seats 4-5 people. You can generally get one of those seats if you don't have a booking.

The wait staff are exceptional when it comes to service and are very friendly and helpful.

The food they serve up is also fantastic, especially their desserts which are 10x better than the stuff served up across the road at mocha Joe's.

Definitely worth a try if your around the area.

“Always reliable!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

It's great to find a trendy restaurant with great food in the burbs. They recently got a new chef and changed their menu (which was slightly disappointing as, in my opinion, the old menu was more appealing) however the food is still of a high standard and the service is always great!

“Great spot for breakfast!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

My partner and I come hear heaps - they knock out a great brakfast as well as a mean coffe (if you like them big try the sunday late). They have a great range that's well priced - yet it's a bit more expensive for dinner.

“Satisfactory for suburbia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2010

This is a cafe and in saying that it provides all the usual cafe suspects plus some perfectly adequate or better than adequate meals. Four of us had dinner here one week day night. Coming from the Central Business District and not usually eating in the choice of suburban restaurants this was a pleasant surprise.

The staff work hard and well at what they did at the time we attended. The range of food was adequate and the ingredients too. The menu comprised entrees, mains, pasta/risotti, pizza and side dishes. My entree of Calamari was around $12-13 and nicely cooked. It was not a cheap frozen product. My main course, a special of the day was fresh tuna, of which there were two pieces, on a bed of kipfler potatoes and asparagus spears. The food was fresh, well cooked and tasty. This cost $26-$27.

The wine list was very interesting but possibly a little expensive for a suburban cafe but the wines on offer were worth the price paid. A little less ambitious range, perhaps, would also have been suitable. Both our food waiter, a slim young man and our wine waiter, a short haired young woman knew what they were doing, so refreshing in a cafe/restaurant of this ilk. Their skills were commendable.

One detraction was the noise levels. It was very difficult to have a decent conversation due to high noise levels in the eating space. This was not helped by an adjacent table of excitable women, who became more excitable and loud as they started their first drink of bubbly.

This cafe is one of a multitude in the street, it has a lot of competition, but I believe it may well be one of the best in that street for Italian/Australian style food.

There is a bar upstairs, we did not patronise this part of the premises.
