“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

My husband and I were on a quick trip to Melbourne and wanted to try this restaurant had gone in a couple of times on the off chance we could get a table, but booked out, so make sure you book in well in advance! We loved all the dishes we tried, and tried a few, the short ribs were awesome, staff lovely, great atmosphere, good wines, will definitely be going back, also tried chin chin the next day, and rated Coda way better!!

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

My girlfriend and I were lucky to have lunch at this underground Melbourne establishment. Staff managed to strike the balance between friendly professionalism and intimate knowledge of their food. We enjoyed the cured ocean trout, eggplant and tofu delight and fried cauliflower. All superbly done with delicate balance of flavours. We will be back.

“Delightful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

Saturday night in Melbourne, many restaurants all full but at Coda the front of house went to great lengths to accommodate 3 of us at the bar. our wonderful waiter selected dishes for us; a series of taste sensations. The staff were professional but also fun. We laughed together and discussed the qualities of the food with them. A great night out and delightful dining experience: thoroughly recommended.

“Tapas delights and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We missed out in getting in here on our last trip to Melbourne but this experience really made up for it.We chose an 8 course degustation with matching wines. Never had Betel leaf before but these mini 'wraps' were full of flavour and the leaf had a wonderful fresh crunch, the scallops, while not particularly large (by Western Australian standards) were delicately flavoured and perfectly cooked. Our blackened quail was a delight of super crispy exterior but moist and marshmallow tender inside. Our green duck curry was substantial and although accompanied with a 'Jazzy' rice, the Palm Heart salad was most refreshing to lighten up the palate by this stage. The lovely surprise of the evening was the Ice Cream sandwich dessert. Very light and delicately flavoured. We were enjoying our meal so much that we were easily lulled into purchasing a magnificent bottle of Marcoux Chateaunuf de Pape to compliment the evening. A memorable experience and will most definitely come again..Be warned it is usually booked out well ahead and I rang ahead for our booking before we left Perth
