Located right in the middle of the CBD, 5 min walk to flinders street station and federation square, 10-15 min walk to the aquarium and approx 10min drive to the melbourne zoo. Plenty of shops and restaurants within the vicinity with a nice vibrant atmosphere throughout.

The hotel has all the basic amenities, the rooms are small, ventilation is good, the hotel also offers a continental breakfast for $9 per person and the internet and wifi come at a cost.

Overall decent hotel given the price.

Everything was much cleaner than I had expected. Very basic, but I didn't expect anything more for such a cheap price. The air conditioning was very good and the location was close to Federation Square.

I've never been in jail before - stay here and you will get the feeling for it. Basic isn't the word. Tiny, smelly, no air, no natural light, crammed, bunk beds. It's awful. Shower is a joke. Squeeze into the toilet if you can. It's worse than budget. Avoid.

Room Tip: Tip is don't stay here

Myself and a friend stayed here for 6 nights. It was as budget as you would expect; we had a double bed, single bunk and a shower/sink separated by a curtain and a separate toilet. They provided linen for both beds (sheets were really low quality, quite starchy) with a thin duvet for the double and one fleecy blanket for the bunk. Body soaps were also provided. We got fresh towels and soaps every day. Air conditioning unit was in dire need of replacing, it turned off sporadically and there was barely any temp diff between 16 and 21 degrees. The breakfast buffet had a cost of $9 a day (we just bought some cereal and kept it in our room, and bought some milk which we kept in the communal fridge) it consisted of cereals, toast, spreads, coffee/tea and yogurt and tinned fruit..too expensive for that we thought! Lifts weren't great, not reliable, and the hallways had a weird smell...but, this hotel is good if all you need is a bed, awesome location too!

I stayed at the hotel with a couple of friends for a 3 night trip to Melbourne. The room was small and a bit smelly. It was also pretty dark as the window was about a meter from another building. The shower was tiny. There was no bathroom but just a shower and sink in the room separated from the beds with a curtain. Location was great and the kitchen was OK too. I guess you get what you pay for...
