“Don't miss the suckling pig”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Don't even think about the menu, just go for the chef's degustation. And don't miss the suckling pig. One of my favourite places.

“Gorgeous place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

This is one of Melbourne's finest places - quirky, elegant, intimate, Sardinian (!) , imaginative ...
You come away wanting to be a better cook.
The wine list is great. It has a good time vibe.
Love it !

“"Da Noisy"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

This place is very noisy because of the timber floors. It's quite small so I wouldn't recommend it as a place for a large party. I enjoyed my venison. My friend enjoyed her dessert. However she didn't enjoy descending the VERY steep stairs and actually slipped down the last one.

“Succulent pig to die for!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

Da noi was a great dining experience. Our table was at the back of the restaurant, in a separate dining room, with an open fire and a piglet roasting on the rotisserie. Fortunately the chimney was working perfectly well and we didn’t come home smelling of food.
We decided to go with the chef’s surprise option and it was delicious. A number of antipasti, served with fresh bread, followed by ravioli made with sepia nera and Jerusalem artichokes.
The suckling pig was served on aromatic herbs with potatoes and salad.
Dessert was a selection of cold and hot desserts, mascarpone ice cream, fig and almond pudding and a chocolate layered torta.
Service was good and very informative.
This is not a place to go if you are on a budget, but you will eat fantastic food in a very cosy environment.
There is also a great selection of Italian wines.

“Past its best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012 via mobile

I have visited da noi six or seven times over the years and the experience has always been outstanding. My last meal there on 29 June however, will be the last. Only the roast pork was outstanding. Everything else was pedestrian.

I have never questioned the fact that the food was expensive as it was always way above average. It is still expensive but the quality has fallen away dramatically.
