“The best "boozy" lunch in Melbourne.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

If it's good food, good wine & good customer service you want, then Cicciolina wins hands down. I took a few interstate friends for a boozy lunch & they haven't stopped talking about it. Always a winner!

“eager to please”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

I visited Ackland St, and was attracted to this little restaurant. We sat outside in the sun, and ordered from the creativer, extensive menu. I had a hankering for something in particular, and it was no trouble for either the waitress nor the chef. And it was delicious too!

“Staff that didn't care”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We visited here whilst on holidays after hearing rave reviews from family. We waited out the back & enjoyed a drink. Eventually a table was free & through we went to the restaurant. We were sat next to a couple that were basically at each others throats & the woman clearly intoxicated. The seating is very intimate so to ignore their conversation was impossible. A table across the way was free and I went to move but it was quickly filled. The waitress came over to take our order & we asked to be moved. No luck but the most disappointing part was she told us quietly that the couple were regulars & there was nothing she could do - they always fight. It ruined our much anticipated time here & if this couple are regulars I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd never come back. We complained again when asked how our meal was. No sorry. No compensation, they clearly just wanted to look after their 'regular' cashed up bogan couple. We would not come back, the food did not make up for the atmosphere.

“Best in St. Kilda ... autstanding every time”

We had dinner here on four different occasions. each time the food was first rate and the service excellent. The seafood and desserts are especially scrumptious. Well done!

“Always great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

I live locally and Cicciolina's is a regular haunt. I take visitors there,I go with the girls for lunch and have had a romantic dinner or two there also. There is a regular menu and a changing daily special menu. Whatever you eat there is guaranteed to be delicious. You can book for lunch but not for dinner. If you want guaranteed seating, you need to get there early-but generally the wait is not too long and there is also a separate bar, where you can wait, get snacks and cocktails, wine, beer etc. Cicciolina's is popular with all age groups though not really suitable for the mums and bubs brigade. There is no room for prams, seating is close, and the atmosphere vibrant. I have been a regular there for 14 years and it has remained in the same hands the whole time. They also run Ilona Staller in Carlisle st, nearby. This is a different space, different but still excellent contemporary/Italian inspired food, less noisy, perhaps better for a romantic dinner. I have tried most things over the years- the fish is reliably good, specials always interesting with a bit of a twist.
This place has a couple OS small tables outside, you don't go there to eat outdoors.
