Owner description: Nothing you have ever experienced will prepare you for the awe inspiring view of Melbourne from the observation deck of the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere. Located at Level 88, Eureka Skydeck is Melbourne's new 'must-see' attraction. Skydeck 88 is the only observation deck in the world that can thrill you with the Edge - a glass cube which projects 3 metres out from the building, with you in it!

“Good Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

For photography there is access to an outside area, otherwise you have to be very careful not to get light reflections on the glass.
I wouldn't bother with the glass cube experience - you're not allowed to take photos while in it.

“If the weather's good, pay a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

On a sunny day the views over Melbourne are fantastic - especially from the open air terrace. As a first time visitor to Melbourne, this was a great way to get the geography of the city and I highly recommend.

“eureka at sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

this is a great place to visit (in the correct conditions) I would definately recommend going to see a sunset. but on a day where there is some cloud cover as it just adds to the light show!

“Eureka Towers really tries to empty your wallet. BEWARE!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

So, no surprise, tourists have to pay to get to the top of the Eureka Towers.

The good...there are fixed binoculars around the top of the Eureka Towers with labels of iconic places that you should be viewing through the binoculars. This was great for someone like me who did not do any research and knew nothing about Melbourne.

The bad...you have to pay additional money to do "The Edge" experience where you enter a glass surround extension of the building, seeing all the way down to the cement ground level below your feet for 5minutes. Very pricey, but my husband was willing to pay extra for his once in a lifetime 5 minute mini-adventure. However, you were NOT allowed to take photos with your own camera even AFTER paying the EXTRA money for "The Edge". You had to buy the photo of your "Edge" experience if you wanted pictures. Plus, the photo might not be photographing what you personally would have taken a picture of with your own camera. Shame on the Eureka Towers for going above and beyond to rip off tourists!!

“Not as scary as you'd think!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Good value compared to other skytowers I've been up. Definitely worth doing especially after you've explored Melbourne a little. You can then pick out all the places you've seen. Lift up to the 88th floor is smooth and quiet, not stomach churning at all! Views are excellent and you get to see the layout of Melbourne. Free to go outside into an open caged area to experience the wind. It's a must to take your camera. Nice coffee shop at top but staff are a bit slow making coffee. Toilets are styled in dark timber and feel a bit eerie. Extra $12 to go out "in the edge" a cube with glass floor.
