“Going back but next time without the kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2011

A harbour city view on the 14 floor. Just brilliant. I set the alarm for 4.30am the day we left so I could sit on the balcony having breakfast just looking at the view for one last time. SPECTACULAR. Very quiet location. Roomy, clean and well set out. Having a full laundry when travelling is a plus. There was a tram stop just across the road. The number 86 tram took us to the main retail door step, David Jones and Myer as well as the city restaurants. Plus the free city circle tram goes past as well although it drops you on the edge of the shopping district. Excellent for teenagers as well but next time we just might leave them behind. The airbus shuttle drops you off at reception (24 hour) which is away from the apartment building. The reception staff will walk you and your luggage to your apartment. Reception will organise airport transport for your next flight. Free internet use at reception

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour view costs a bit extra but worth it

We stayed 3 nights recently and like others could not find the reception area and were amazed by the lack of signage- although this problem will be addressed its a shame there was no contingency to assist guests.
The studio apartment we had was only 3 weeks old so the standard was high and furnishings were excellent-you have to remember that this is not a hotel you are on your own with regards to housekeeping who were not seen in 3 days and the reception teams service implied that they were there only to hand out keys nothing else.
no bath was a disapointment, no cereal bowls also , we made do with soap and toilet paper, no info in room to assist you at all, no emergency or fire procedures either- bit of a worry that no one is checking these things - I mentioned this to staff and was told to use the lift ???? in a fire????
The apartments are individually owned we were told we could not have an upgrade because then the owner of the studio would miss out on payment-strange set up - they are new but not spotless housekeeping need a reminder re standards, the beds are rock hard and you cannot request different pillows
If you can get a good rate stay for sure but be aware that you are on your own and will not get that feeling that you have warm hospitality - the reception staff provide a standard operating service but thats all .

Dear Boski,
Thank you for submitting your review on your recent stay with us. Being new to the role, I love to hear all feedback and I will use it to create a better experience for our guests. Signage is a problem, we have a new reception area (just relocated), so new that our street does not yet appear on Google Maps and Sat Nav Equipment. We are working on this at present. We also await our signage for the front of reception. Pending approval. I also plan to send another memorandum to the local Taxi Brigade. We hope to rectify this quickly moving forward. We will ensure to explain this arrangement in a more clear fashion to our guests. We are a Serviced Apartment, not a traditional hotel, so our servicing is limited. Upgrades are available but will attract a surcharge as with most hotels. This could have been explained easier. The inventory problems in the room will be rectified too, in particular the evacuation signage. I am concerned that you did not feel welcome on check in or check out. I will be addressing this with my team as we try to improve our service delivery. We appreciate your patronage and you deserve to feel special!
Thank you once again for your review and I hope you will visit us again in the future.
Kind regards
Michael Boyd

We stayed in the Nolan building in a 2 bed/2 bath apartment (2 couples). The views were harbour views as promised but side-on more than front on. Regardless, we had a great outlook, and the apartment was larger than we had anticipated. The trams are directly behind the complex, as is Harbour town and if you chose there are many restaurants right below the accommodation. There is also a convenience store (where you can buy train/tram tickets if you don't have change), bottle store and pharmacy.
The apartments were extremely quiet and away from the business of the CBD, but really close - taxi ride home if you can't face the trams is only about $13-15.
Faults we could find at a push are a bit of lack of cooking equipment (obviously most eat out), maybe some BBQ on the pool level would be nice...but that's about it!

Dear Tania S,
Thank you for submitting a review on your recent stay. I am pleased you were happy with the accommodation, the views and the size of the apartment. We try to have a standard set of inventory in the apartments but next time if you need something extra, please ask and we will do our best to accommodate you. Also, 1 of our towers, Conder does have a BBQ, the others do not. Thanks again for your positive review and I hope to welcome you back again in the near future.
Have a safe and Merry Christmas.

We had the 3 bedroom apartment overlooking Docklands and Etihad Stadium. Nice sized bedrooms and living areas. Even with a group of 8 we still found there was plenty of room.

We booked a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom harbour view room for three couples. Our room was on the 16th floor overlooking the harbour and Berth restaurant – great views from the loungeroom and balcony, and each bedroom as well. Each bedroom was reasonably spacious and had a queen size bed, along with a wardrobe and balcony access, and the main bedroom had an ensuite. The blinds do let in a lot of light around the outside so if you like to sleep late, this might be frustrating. The building we were in also had a small pool and small gym.

This particular apartment was very roomy and mostly well fitted out, with plenty of glassware, cutlery and plates and other kitchen utensils. There was also a large dining table and lounge suite with plenty of seating options. On arrival it was very clean and well laid out. We did ask for more towels during our stay as one towel per person wasn’t enough for the full amount of time we were staying there (especially for some guests who liked to use a towel at the gym). We also had to ration the supplied dishwashing liquid / powder as we weren’t there for long enough to justify buying a whole pack. The floorboards in our apartment were extremely creaky and you could hear people walking around, especially at night when everyone had gone to bed. Also over the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) we often heard people going past after dining or partying nearby but I am a light sleeper so this may not bother everyone.

As previous posters have mentioned, reception is EXTREMELY difficult to find and most taxi drivers (even with GPS) struggled to find the buildings. There is a small grocery store in the same area or you can take a short walk (or tourist tram ride) to a Safeway just across the river. The tourist tram stops almost right outside the building which is very convenient for getting around Melbourne, and of course there are all sorts of restaurants / coffee shops / eateries nearby.

Dear NW28,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am pleased you were impressed with the accommodation and the amenities. I have taken note of your comments regarding the difficulty experienced in finding the reception. We have recently moved our reception into the new Harbour1 Building and are awaiting additional signage and directions. We will review our current information concerning our location as we want our guests to be able to find our location with ease. We will be updated on the GPS soon as our new address is so new it is not linked in yet! We will rectify this of course. Once again, thank you for taking the time to review your stay and I hope you will return again in the near future.

Many thanks

Booked this for business for four nights. The rooms are quite new and very clean and have everything that one might need including all cooking needs, cutlery crockery (although I didn't have breakfast bowls - which made breakfast a little awkward), washing machine, iron etc.
My biggest disappointment was a lack of gym/pool which was not yet open at the time (I think the business may have relocated recently) but was clearly advertised on their website (and I likely would have gone elsewhere had I known). I also found the staff to be somewhat apathetic and not that friendly however, they also weren't rude. Overall, the whole place seems a little unpolished. There was no hotel information book in my room and the emergency instructions were taped to the back of the door with blue masking tape. And my final gripe, the key set provided has a giant plastic tag on it which is really really annoying in regards to carrying them on your person.

To end on a not-so-down note, there was no one thing that was a complete deal breaker (given the pool and gym should be open soon). The place was clean and modern and incidental to many places to eat and is not that far from the city if you don’t mind a walk to catching the tram.
