WOW!

I have been a bar fly in Melbourne for a few years now and I have always been a big fan of the staples that are Gin Palace and Supper Club. But I have now found my new home, their cocktails are some of the best in the world and I rate NYC as the best (London is not far behind...).

Being a small space it gets very busy but maintains its atmosphere with some great tunes- no dj. As the name suggests it has a very Chinese style with a communist twist.

The staff are very accommodating, they are super when it comes to adding the right spirits and fruit, and dont use sugar based syrups- so they are always fresh and flavoursome on many levels, rather than sickly sweet.

Right in the heart of a lot of Melbourne’s finest restaurants (Becco, Punch Lane, Florentino) it is a great place to visit after dinner for a nightcap, unfortunate they have to close! But when they do you can head out the door and into their new bar called New Gold Mountain which is open till 5am Im told. It opened after I was there so will report back next time.
