Having booked a one bedroom apartment, we found ourselves upgraded to a two bedroom apartment, which was wonderful. Nice, quiet location, only a two minute walk to the number 8 tram, which goes straight into the centre (make sure you know how to use the confusing Myki card system) and a ten minute walk to the lovely Botanic Gardens. Drawbacks? The bathroom was a bit tired looking and the tub small. But most Melbourne apartments only seem to have a shower, so obviously baths are not high on the list for Melbournians. A few hiccups in the housekeeping department were quickly solved by the very helpful staff on the front desk. Warning: phonecalls from the apartment to cell phones are ridiculously expensive ($3.50 per 30 seconds!!). Having been warned of this, we limited our calls to cellphones to the utter minimum and still ended up with an almost $20 bill. Don't understand the justification for this. Otherwise, a great place to stay!
