“Great bar in excellent location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

Great view out to the MCG, with relaxed surroundings.
Chose the arancini, brocolli, and the beef spare rib - no complaints here!
The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the menu & wine list.
A couple of glasses of punt road wine, followed by a delicious espresso martini - i'll definitely return!

“The new spot in East Melbourne ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

The area has suffered from a lack of bars for too long, but that has all changed with the arrival of The Tippler & Co. Great vibe, a mix of rustic and modern, and nice location overlooking the MCG parklands. The menu is a beautifully constructed modern Australian take on tapas, with some more substantial offerings to back them up also. The beer options are well considered - try the Weihenstephaner weiss beer. Friendly and knowledgeable bar staff round out a great package. Highly recommended.

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

We came here with a group on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. The beers were flowing like wine, and table service was a nice touch.

The only problem with the menu is it's too difficult to choose between the delicious options! Luckily they're all well suited for sharing. We tried the braised lamb on cous cous, piri piri chicken with chorizo and ginger spinach, beef short rib, and some fat triple fried chips. It was all delicious, but the lamb was particularly special.

Dessert was ginger and date pudding with fried ice cream (amazing) and a creme catalana, which is apparently a more delicious version of acreme brulé.

All of this in a super friendly atmosphere, newly renovated space with big open views of the MCG and city. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I noticed they have function spaces too so I'll be looking to try to find an excuse to bring a bigger group next time!
