“Luxurious Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Spent a gorgeous weekend in the city with my husband. Hotel is excellent on all levels. Stay in a Club Room for the extra benefits - well worth it. The staff were attentive. Love the Langham Melbourne it's our favourite 5star Hotel in our city.

The Langham is wonderful, awesome and beautiful. Me and my family stayed for 2 nights and it was totally paradise. The bed was like clouds, and the TV had really good channels. When we went to the Chaun spa it was great because me and my brother were floating in the water, the bottom tiles were painted green so it was easier to see. My parents went outside they took photos of the it was amazing, you could see the Yarra river and the South Bank. The food was delicious it had smoked salmon, a chocolate fountain, sour worms, honey comb and fresh fruits and plenty of other items. I am looking forward to stay at Langham in near future.

We spent 3 nights here, half business and half holiday and were somewhat impressed with this place.
Room was of a decent size and very clean, bed comfortable and whole atmosphere of the hotel is second to none. For you that don't know Melbourne, hotel is positioned at Southbank which is a short walking distance from cbd. Area is packed with good restaurants and bars.

As to be expected these days, only option for parking is valet park which at $50p/d is pretty much standard. Over the weekend parking that hotel uses has $8 cap so you could use it yourself as long as you are willing to get up before 7 am and move the car.

I found staff at this place worse part of the stay, they were absolutely terrible when it came to fallowing requests or getting things done. Simple things like extending room on a check-in; you would think they would be easy but not here. Hotel keys will work for duration of our stay, no not really.

Apart from incompetent staff I did like this place and will return again.

I took my granddaughter for an overnight luxury stay at the Langham and we were not disappointed. As soon as you arrive it is a great experience. We were greeted by the traditionally dressed doorman who was extra helpful and made us feel special. The marble foyer with staircase and fountains is magnificent and our room was luxurious. Without a doubt the highlight was the breakfast in the dining room, the best I have ever had. The variety is outstanding and the hands down favourite would have to be the chocolate fountain, complete with anything you can imagine would be great to dip in chocolate. The location is also great, right next to the Yarra and walking distance to transport, the city and much more.

Room Tip: Refer to the hotel website for many options.

From the first waft of fragrance that meets you was you walk in the doors of the Langham to the wonderful beds and river vistas, this is the way to do Melbourne. For business or pleasure. The breakfast is a great favourite - as are the afternoon teas, but for me the Chuan Spa is the real sanctuary in the midst of this oasis. Thank you Langham for being a true home away from home.

Room Tip: River view costs a little more but its worth it - and the corner rooms are very sweet.

My husband and I stayed at The Langham for one night, mid week. Our room was ready on arrival and the porters were efficient and polite. The bed was absolutely fabulous, it felt like we were sleeping on a cloud!

We had a club room (worth the extra money!!) so we enjoyed afternoon tea in the club lounge which was delicious and had a wonderful view.

As this was a part of our honeymoon we were delighted to find a slice of cake waiting for us on our return from a show.

Breakfast at the Melba Brassarie was amazing. There were so many choices and the staff were very friendly.

I have nothing bad to say about our stay. We will definitely be back!

Spent 3 nights here with my husband during a trip around Australia.
First impressions are very good, greeted at the door by bowler hatted doormen, and an entrance with a real wow factor, chandeliers and tumbling water.
We arrived at 2.30 and check in from 3 pm so were told our room was not yet ready and that they would text me when it was. Ok so far, they took my number and we went for a cup of tea.
By 3.10 still no text so we went back to reception. Oh yes room now ready, never did receive the text.
Our room was beautiful with views over the river, loads of goodies in the bathroom including toothbrush and razor as well as the usual and a very well stocked minibar caters for anything else you may want including paracetamol and personal items 'just in case'.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in in Australia and a good choice of pillows.
Now the not so good. The room next door had a problem with their taps so that ever time they were used it was like a foghorn going off in our room, not too bad during the day but a 4 in the morning not the best.
We ate breakfast in the dining room two mornings. A good choice of food including ice cream and a chocolate fountain, kids loved it. The service though left a bit to be desired, I ordered tea which took 10 mins to arrive, if you are moving around getting your food they don't pour it so you then have to wait until they come round again, why not just leave a teapot much better idea.
We found the serving staff if not sullen then certainly not a ray of sunshine, and really this seemed to apply to most of the staff, very few smiles or acknowledgement, don't know if this is supposed to create a feeling of 'servants not been seen or heard' but I found it a bit cold.
We asked the concierge for information on things to do. He advised us to go to the Monet exhibition at the local gallery, when we got there it had closed two weeks ago!
I am unlikely to visit Australia again but probably wouldn't stay here again if I did.
