“Worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

My mum, sister and I stayed 3 nights at the Crown Promenade in late June. We had a Standard Twin room (2 Queens) which was surprisingly roomy with the 3 of us plus luggage! We stepped off the Air Bus shuttle and were greeted with the fantastic service that continued throughout our stay. Although we arrived much earlier then check-in, our room was ready to go, allowing us to quickly freshen up before setting off to explore. Located about 10 minutes walk from Flinders Street station, its easy to make the most of your stay using one of Melbourne's many trains or trams. While we were there, the earthquake happened outside the city, which although it hit some distance away- it felt a lot stronger 13 floors up! The hotel staff all went out of their way to keep guests updated and feeling safe. The room were always left spotless and apart from when we ordered room service one night, all the staff seemed to move unseen, but always seemed willing to go above and beyond. Although it was more than I would typically spend on a hotel stay, it was worth every dollar for the location and service alone (not to mention the comfortable beds!)

Fairly underwhelmed by this hotel. The rooms were a decent size but serviced very late in the day with only some of the amenities replaced. Prepaid the room in full and then was charged extra for both nights. Front desk staff struggled with acknowledging the extra charge and subsequent refund. Having settled the account we weren't able to access our room despite letting staff know we would need to return to collect our luggage. Extremely disappointed with the buffet breakfast, dreadful poached eggs, only two types of pastry and a small selection of fruit. At $30.00 per head it should be better. In fact, it should all have been better. Stayed at this hotel primarily for the pool but next time will be back to the Grand Hyatt where we would normally stay.

ok - this is a modern, competently designed hotel room which a business person would expect nothing less of. We were there for the Aussie Open and it was just what we needed. Perfect location, close to restaurants by the water, and the open, and the casino - which we walk through but don't usually gamble. I used the fitness room - it was fine. We didn't upgrade to stay in the "higher end" crown facilities and we were just fine. But we heard Roger and his girls were downstairs there eating breakfast ..... oh well we try not to bother the athletes!

Reception staff are always friendly and remember to welcome me back. Very nice rooms. Could do with iPod integration in rooms. Other than that its perfect. In a great location adjacent to casino. Restaurant is very pricey for breakfast. In room dining is reasonable and good quality.

We have stayed here before, but its been at least 3 years since our last stay. We were celebrating our anniversary and the Promenade had a stay, movie and popcorn, parking and breakfast package. When we checked in they sent up a bottle of wine for our anniversary. We could choose any movie we wanted to watch then order the popcorn, it was like being at the Cinemas except quieter. Later in the evening we went to the many restaurants at Crown, but being a saturday night it was hard finding a table, so we went back to our room and ordered room service. The young lady was very helpful and we had a lovely meal. The beds here are extremely comfy, the room is very comfortable, and plenty of bathroom accessories. There is good quality tea and coffee but my main complaint is the uht milk. I know it lasts longer but a small fresh milk would be so much better. As to be expected, the breakfast was excellent, a good variety and always plenty of it, a good relaxing weekend.

Room Tip: Rooms here can be expensive, try to get a package, it works out cheaper.

I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference (standard twin room). It has every possible amenity you could want. I especially enjoyed the classy gym with well-maintained equipment. The only criticism I have is that it does not offer free wifi or internet to its guests. A hotel doing business at this level should be including this in the price of the rooms or they will stop attracting business people. Most USA and a number of European hotels understand this.

Room Tip: Obviously, go as high as you can. We were very fortunate to stay on the 23rd floor - amazing views.

My son, grandaughter and myself stayed here 22/11/12 - 26/11/12, it was the greatest hotel that I have ever experienced. We arrived from the airport in a taxi and there was a very kind gentleman who opened our doors and welcomed us straight away, I turned to collect our bags and they were being taken inside without any fuss, the receptionist were all so polite, we arrived very early, about 8.40am, they kept our luggage while we walked around. about 10.30am we received a phonecall to say that our room was available anytime we wished to come back. The room was very clean and the view was fantastic room 2283.The view at night was great,we could see all the city. Everytime we returned to the room it was immaculate, clean sheets.towels etc.Could not fault this hotel in any way at all.We actually booked this room for a very good price so I didn't expect this class of hotel. It was good to be able to walk across the road to the Crown Towers and walk in and see all the beautiful designer shops and restaurants, also a foodcourt for the budget meals which we used frequently, great Indian food, I only have a debit card and at many hotels I feel as though I am treated differently to credit card holders but I wasn't this time! I would be honoured to stay at this hotel at anytime!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 22nd floor have great views!
