stayed for a conference at the Crown conference centre. The room was a good size with comfy bed, good bathroom (no bath). Breakfast at the restaurant had a good selection of hot and cold. newspaper delivered each morning, really good option for business and would be handy location for tourists

We loved this hotel because we loved being able to walk back to our room after a night at the casino without getting wet and cold in rainy Melbourne! The hotel itself is nice, typical 4-star standard, with good amenities and clean big rooms. Nice indoor swimming pool. We'll definitely be back!

Stayed a week in Melbourne on business. Had a room on the 23rd floor facing he Yarra. Great views except for the Crown Casino tower in the middle - but good either side. Huge windows floor to ceiling.

Room was well maintained and clean, and everything was good quality and in good working order.

Plenty of cupboard space and the personal safe was great for storing valuables - big enough for my notebook computer and SLR together.

There was a large flat screen TV and it seemed to have ports running between it and the desk in the room if you wanted to connect your computer to it - I didnt use that.

I didn't eat in the hotel at all so cannot comment on that. Nor did I use the gym.

I did use the wireless broadband and that was OK.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-August.

The room was modern, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Upon entering the room, I was immediately impressed by the lovely views of the city from the huge window. The bed and bedding was incredibly comfortable. The well appointed bathroom has an enormous enclosed glass shower with excellent water pressure. The room had a huge LCD television with loads of local and international channels. The hotel is in a great location--5 minutes walk to Flinders Station, 10 minute walk to Federation Square. I also enjoyed the extra perk of the free newspaper delivered to my room each morning. The staff was also helpful and polite.

This is not a budget option--this is the kind of place that leaves mints on your nightstand each morning--but it's worth what you pay for it. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Tips:
-get a room on the side of the hotel with a city view.
-For vegetarian travelers: Try "Lord of the Fries" on the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth Street, about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It's an all vegetarian menu, but you would never know it.

Ran away from ther kids for a night, looking for something special. We were disappointed in our room because I had specifically asked for a nice view for my husband's birthday. Management were very accommodating when I expressed my disappointment and moved us to another room. Can't fault the service; all the staff we dealt with were lovely.
The room itself was nice enough and we enjoyed sitting on the window seat watching the coming and goings down at the Casino. However I think for the money we spent we could have stayed somewhere more special.
We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner preferring instead to walk up to one of our favorites, Feddish at Federation Square - it was a lovely walk on a beautiful evening and their steaks are always divine!
Unfortunately I have to give the thumbs down to the Buffet breakfast. I think for the price you could probably have a more enjoyable brekky in one of the restaurants along the Yarra.

Room Tip: Pleasant enough for a Melbourne stopover but if you are looking for something special go elsewhere.

Got a great deal to stay in a standard King room for $199 with valet parking and late checkout. Staff were friendly and check in/out was quick and hassle free. Room was spacious and clean. Great Bathroom with a lovely big shower, definitely one of the better bathrooms I have come across in a 4 star hotel in Melbourne. Bed and Pillows were really comfy and gave a great nights sleep. Wasn't overly impressed with the Buffet breakfast, have had much better elsewere and would probably save the $60 it cost for my partner and I to eat there and go to a cafe. For the right price I would most definitely return to Crown Promenade.
