“Great hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

Stayed here for a week for a business trip, it's a really nice hotel in a nice central location. Tram stop right outside but you can walk to the city centre in about 10-15 mins. The hotel shuttle also drops you at several popular city spots. The rooms are lovely and staff are friendly. Also the hotel is part of the Crown Entertainment Centre so you can walk to the food court, shops, movies etc through indoor walkways which is great if it's raining and provides a safety factor for women staying in the city alone. Easy access to great food so you don't have to use room service if you don't want to. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne no matter what the reason.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have a huge bathroom window which is disconcerting as for one in the middle.

I stayed here for a conference recently. The room was spacious and comfortable. Big screen TV and a nice view of the Southbank precinct.

The conference facilities and food were outstanding. Adjoining the Casino makes it a great option when staying in Melbourne as most of the after dark action in town happens there.

Good value for money.

Room Tip: Try to get above level 10 for the views.

This hotel is fantastic! We stayed in a Luxe King Room which is the entry level "standard" room and it's just beautiful. Very modern, tasteful look to it with an enormous king bed, very very comfy indeed. The rooms are HUGE, especially when you consider that this is the standard room. Plenty of room to put all of your bags, big closet space, huge bathroom with plenty of bench space and all the amenities you could need.

Nice selection of magazines to choose from in the room and a beautiful little couch and table to help you relax. Big desk as well for those travelling on business, this room really has thought of everything for all types of travellers.

Great location, right on southbank in Melbourne (loads of restaurants and entertainment right on your doorstep). You can actually walk right through the Crown Complex without having to step foot outside, so very handy if you're all dressed up and don't want to go out into the elements.

Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again & again!

I stayed at this hotel for a conference and found it to be as good if not better than 5star hotels ived stayed at. The facilities were first class and i thought the rooms were very modern and spacious, including a massive plasma screen. I would stay here again.

The Promenade is the sister hotel of Crown Towers. It has a similar feel to it service wise. The CP is a faultless hotel and is great for business or pleasure. Check in is seamless as is the transfer of luggage to your room. The rooms are quite large by todays standards. A massive LCD tv greets you at the foot of you unbelievably comfy bed. The pillows are so good I bought one for $130 at reception. The shower is huge, although there is no bath. Floor to ceiling windows give you spectacular views of Crown Towers and Melbourne. There is convenient access to CT Casino by a fully enclosed/air conditioned walkway. I've only had one bad experience where valet damaged my hire car. Stayed there more than 10 times and never had a bad stay. I also like the mints they give you every night on your pillow.

Room Tip: One side of the hotel faces the city, and the other out to St Kilda. The city view is by far the bet...

The staff from the reception to the maids were friendly and engaging. The hotel is centrally located within the sprawling Crown Casino complex on the banks of the Yarra River, directly behind the main Casino complex with a sky tunnel walkway for direct access to the casino. Reasonable value valet parking is the only onsite parking available, but the interconnected Crown public car park at $10 per night is hard to beat. We upgraded to a "corner" room on the 19th floor and the view over the city from the wall to wall, floor to ceiling window was nothing short of spectacular. The room itself was spacious, well laid out and well appointed. The room had a nice comfortable feel about it with basic cable TV, Hotel/Casino complex smart phone, and large bathroom. The room was quiet with its own climate control. The hotel pool area included a well equipped gym and cardio room with attentive staff. Whilst a little pricey for us normal folk, the weekend spent at the Promenade, wandering around the city and trying to win the weekend costs back on the casino tables was a weekend to remember. Surprisingly affordable Day Spa's are available at the Crown Towers and Crown Metropol. We spent some time at the Crown Towers Day Spa, and the Crown Towers pool and gym area was very impressive. An early morning wander through the Casino to get breakfast is an eye opener, with the desperate's still glued to their machines from the night before.

Room Tip: Take the advice of the reception. They sold us the upgrade and it was worth it. Tell them its your b...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2011 via mobile

I have stayed here a few times on business, most recently July 2011. The rooms are a great size with super comfy beds & doonahs. Lovely window seat to relax after a hard day. The breakie is yummy & they will bring you a real coffee if you ask.
My only complaint is the lighting in the bathroom. Very dark and not great for applying makeup, which can be pretty important if you are staying here to attend an event at Crown as we were. Overall this hotel is fantastic & I would stay here any opportunity I have.
