“Great Location, Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This is a well placed, good value hotel for anyone on a city break in Melbourne. We stayed around the time of the AIDS Conference and I think a lot of their best rooms must have gone to delegates attending this conference. Our room and it's furniture was lacking a bit of TLC but was still clean and inoffensive. Would definitely return.

The Mercure in Therry Street makes a very good choice if you need to stay in Melbourne for work and want somewhere convenient, comfortable, and quiet. It's an easy walk to the University of Melbourne or RMIT, and a quick tram ride or walk to the city.

The rooms are well laid out and nicely presented. The small kitchen is handy and has everything you need to make breakfast or a light dinner. Close proximity to the wonderful Victoria Market means it's very easy to bring good ingredients back to the hotel.

The bed is comfortable, and the reading chair beside the window is a good place for answering emails. I take my own wi fi rather than rely on hotel services, and telephone calls are pricey so better to use skype or viber.

There's lots of free overnight parking in the streets back towards Melbourne Uni. They are metered until 6.30pm and then free until 7.30 in the morning. Parking inspectors are very diligent, so don't sleep in or it will add considerably to the cost of your stay.

This area is rich in small coffee shops, such as Stovetop in Leicester Street, and these are nice options for breakfast.

Room Tip: Some might prefer a room close to the lifts, but the rooms set further back have good views of the c...

Stayed one night in a studio apartment. It is an easy walk from Melbourne Central station and shopping centre. Victoria markets are just down the street. The room was clean and comfortable, and well priced. The studio apartment had a small kitchenette that would be sufficient for simple meals. The buffet breakfast was well presented and the staff were exceptional that morning. Checking in and out was a breeze. There is currently a large apartment building under construction next door however the site was not working the day we were there so did not affect our stay - unfortunately the view of Victoria Market and beyond from our room will soon be lost. Will consider staying here on future Melbourne visits.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for one night in June and paid around $120 a night for a standard room inc breakfast. We were rapt with the hotel and service received. For the price in Melbourne CBD it was amazing value. Check in was fast and gentleman who greeted us was friendly. Our room was on a high level and had nice views of nearby apartments & city lights. Room was very clean and modern, large comfy bed, with nice spacious bathroom/big shower and included your basic toiletries. TV was fine with ample channels and room also had a comfy recliner chair too. Breakfast was excellent....they cook your eggs fresh for you any way you request and also have a small buffet selection of some other hot items, cereals, Danish and fruits. Good coffee. It was a lovely selection, all very fresh and I actually preferred it to the massive buffets at other bigger hotels. Location of hotel is brilliant, close to all central attractions and trams/ trains. I would happily stay again and recommend this hotel for those seeking a modern clean well located hotel at a fair price.

we like the design and space of our room, cleanliness and friendly and helpful staff. The hotel provide free internet using hotel computers (reset every 15 min). They also provide free wifi to use with our mobile phone, but for only half an hour throughout our stay.

Room Tip: higher floor room. we got 9th floor which is quiet.
