“Brilliant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014 via mobile

Myself and a mate had a great stay at TUNE HOTEL over the Labour Day weekend. Very affordable rooms and the pay for what you use concept was fantastic.
Beds were really comfy and the shower pressure was fantastic. Two things you wouldn't normally associate with a budget hotel. I also decided to pay for tv, and the range of Foxtel channels was also great.
Will be back again in the future.

The family room comes with two separate rooms and bathrooms, making it less hassle to queue up for baths and morning bathroom needs. Location of the hotel is good with 8 minutes walk to the free City Circle (No. 35) tram line. There is a tram line passing through the hotel's frontage, hence there it is a little noisy if you are staying in the lower floors. However, the curtains did a good job in isolating the noise when they are shut closed. Finally, the pricing is very economical and value for money -- a highly recommended hotel to stay in Melbourne CBD.

Hi Teng Kew K,

Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed our family rooms, they are very popular.

The curtains do help with the noise, but its the double glazing on the windows that makes the street barely audible at all.

Hope to see you again soon.

Stayed for seven nights, you pay for what you get and while the rooms are not huge the bed was really comfy only downside is on side is tight against the not that easy for the unlucky person to get the wall side.it's not bad compared to what other hotels was charging our other option was a hostel and I am so happy I picked the tune,
great laundry facility's computers and internet unlike other larger hotels we stayed at,the food was a bit disappointing i know it's basic what's on offer but the price and quality well it was really the one downside .

The guys on reception were so helpful, the hotel is new but it is kept so well the reception is funky and vibrant, there is a tram stop right outside.

We enjoyed or stay at the Tune it's a great concept to budget hotels may not be to every one likening

My daughter and I stayed the night after a concert and was very pleased with our stay, I would recommend it to everyone, you only pay for what you want which is great. Well done TUNE HOTEL we will be using this hotel from now on when we come to Melbourne and hope for more to be built in Australia

Stayed for six nights recently and it was great. The room and common areas were very modern and stylish for a value hotel. Was expecting a really tiny room but it was quite reasonable. The bed was very comfy but there was just one sheet on the mattress and then a doona. This meant you had to sleep with the doona on or nothing. I like the system of only paying for the extras that you want. If you want the usual stuff that comes with a hotel (pay TV, toiletries, towels, etc.) it is available but if you don't then you don't have to pay for it. The location was really good too. It was very close to a tram stop that takes you right into the city in minutes or you can walk to places like Lygon Street easily. The staff were very friendly too.

So.. We did and we didn't know what to expect. Yes we were expecting small rooms, but this room was TINY. Yes we were expecting a pay as you need system, but it seemed extreme. The price was cheaper than other hotels, but not amazingly cheap, and when you add in the extras, you have to consider.

The hotel does have a modern, "cool" vibe to it and it is in a fairly good location close to Lygon Street and a short walk into the city. Service was ok too. We were really looking forward to trying Tune but were left feeling disappointed. It is bare basic. Even to the extent of only one pillow each.

Not a lot of room to store bags in the room let alone trying to unpack anything. Maybe good for a one night stay if you weren't staying the room much.

Hi sydneysider1000,

Thanks for your review. Yes our rooms are smaller than others, but there is plenty of room under the beds to store your bags. We advertise the "Pay for your extras" system quite widely, and everyone seems to have embraced it and we dont consider it extreme. It allows the guest to choose what they want and save their money.

Thanks for staying with us.
