“Village atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

I love the Sun Theatre because it is such a cosy space and always has something worth going to. Parking is not such a hassle here either, or travel by train from the city. For afters the are some very good restaurants in the village

“One of the reasons why I continue to live in this part of town...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

I've lived in this neighborhood for 23 years and have watched the Sun Theatre being transformed from an old, historic theatre facing demolition to what it is today. A beautifully restored piece of local history. The Sun is like an old friend you go can go to every weekend. It's smack bang in the middle of Yarraville surrounded by restaurants and cafe's. It's a hub of activity, shows great films, caters to young and old and added to this you can eat & drink whilst watching your film. You can become a friend of the Sun and pay reduced rates for a minimal fee per annum. They have the Sun Bambini for mums and kids. The staff are friendly and helpful. You gotta love those old armchair style seats and wide leg room. You just gotta love the Sun !!!

“Grand, beautiful and yummy ice creams”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Love this theatre it has so much character, very simliar to the Astor in St Kilda. Lots of current and a few art house movies. Cheap Tuesday costs $10 per ticket. You have a great cafe the Pint of Milk across the road for wholesome and interesting dishes. Next door is a book store and a cafe which has a variety of yummy cakes. A real gem and worthy of a visit. Oh and the seats are wide and comfy

“A real gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Great atmosphere. Nice to be able to take a drink inside. Always a good selection of films.
I never go to hosts etc anymore. This is the only way to see a film. Good deals on buying gift vouchers. They don't have end date. Lots of places to eat and drink before and after

Staff are efficient and courteous, the place is an art deco dream come true. Make cinema going a special treat. Old style charm - good for groups of friends, you can book on line and perfect for a date!
