“History in the heart of Yarraville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

The Sun Theatre is an iconic piece of architecture that has survived Yarraville's building and renovation boom. With its quaint cafe and small theatres, it is like entering yesteryear to watch a modern movie.

It is a lovely theatre to visit to watch a movie, have a coffee and some cake or dinner.

“Best Cinema in Melbourne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

One of the last cinemas to have couple seating. Harks back to a better time. Best value in Melbourne. Gold Class at standard pricing.

“The best cinema in Melbourne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Whether you are local or coming from afar, the Sun Theatre just completes the Yarraville Village experience.

Tastfully restored and renovated, the cinemas within range from small and loungey, to grand and opulent.

Grab a home-made choc-top and a glass of champagne on your way in, and note the ramps and stairwell-lift for patrons with disabilities.

If your sick of the mega-mall cinemas with their tired decor, sticky carpet and unsupervised kids running riot, the Sun Theatre could well become your new cinematic home away frm home.

“Step back in time.”

Love this cinema. Large seats and comfy lounge chairs. Has a very old feel to it. Plenty of parking around this area and it has a great book store next door with a really large variety of titles.
