“Loved it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Just home from a great night at Zia Rina's and logged on out of interest - can't believe what I've just read!! We had beautiful food and attentive service - antipasto followed by rockling with cannellini beans, desert being the fig and pistachio tart, all beautiful. Intimate setting, lovely wait staff...don't understand the previous review! Owner was also lovely, chatted amongst the tables after dinner etc. My husband and I will definitely be going back!

“A restaurant to be avoided!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Last night we visited this restaurant. Unfortunately we certainly will not be returning!
The restaurant offers a set 3 course menu with 2 choices for the main and desert courses.
Our first course was anti-pasta. This proved to be somewhat ordinary.
For the main couse there was a choice of slow cooked lamb or wild mushroom pasta. We selected one each. The lamb turned out to be a very small partion comprising 1 mid-loin chop. My wife searched in vain for any mushrooms in her pasta.
We waited for around 20 minutes for our deserts. The choice was either a fig tart or pannacotta with rhubarb. Both of these were extremely bland. The toal cost, including 2 glasses of wine was a staggering $144!
I waited in vain for somebody to come and give me the bill. As this is a very small restaurant, the wait was puzzling to say the least. In the end, I was forced to go up to the bar and ask for it.
When asked if I had enjoyed the meal, I replied that I had not had a good experience and thought that the food was very overpriced. BIG MISTAKE! The chef, who is the owner, abused me. Never before had they had any adverse comments. Well, a glance at previous reviews here would tell a different story.
If you are seeking a good Italian restaurant, this is definitely not the place to visit!

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Ate at Rina's last Friday and could not fault a thing. 2 beautiful main courses to choose from and 2 great deserts.
Being able to BYO allows you to eat some of the best Italian in Melbourne at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

“Very friendly staff and enjoyable steak”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Fun. You can look into the kitchen and see what's happening. Young staff were friendly and a good volume of yummy food. Steak was ordered medium rare and surprise, that's exactly how it came. We will be back.
