Centra location, close by to etihad stadium. Great for night stay after a concert

And room got a bit hot. Near by restaurants

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Stayed in the ibis for a week visiting customer in Melbourne. Maybe it is me being spoiled by Marriott but I found ibis a poor equivalent to other budget brands (Courtyard by Marriott, Hampton by Hilton, HI Express ...).

The room I initially got (advertised by the receptionist as being a quiet one) was cramped (no way to roll your bag between the bed and the desk) and very dated. It was equipped with cheapest thing you can call a "flat TV" for advert purposes. But ... hey ... that's ibis (although I have seen much better ibis branded hotels in EUrope).

The issue was a Friday night. So called quiet room is probably closest in the whole hotel to noisy night club. I could literally feel blaring bass of music played there. After three hours of the "treat" I went to reception and the only available solution were ... earplugs as the hotel was fully booked.

Fortunately next day brought a solution, I was moved to other room, four floors higher and further away. On good side: I was able to negotiate $100 discount for previous night.

Overall:
definitely not worth $239 a night, you can stay cheaper in fully fledged Hilton
good if you need to be in this part of city

Room Tip: Avoid 413 (and, I believe, 113, 213, 313 ...) on weekend - the noise from club next door will MOVE y...

Dear Weeksy

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay at the hotel.

We are dissappointed and sincerely apologise that the hotel did not meet your expectations.

Being located in the entertainment precient of the city, at times can result in issues with the neighbours. We are in communication with the local authorities and will forward your feedback for their follow up.

It is pleasing to read that the staff the following day were able to find a solution and room move you within the hotel.

Your comments on the outfit of the rooms and size have been forward to the design team for future consideration.

We wish you all the best with your future travels.

take care
