“WOW”

Late Friday lunch became dinner as well. Fast, spicy and buzzing. Fantastic vibe, snappy service and eclectic crowd. Best idea is to go outside traditional hours.

“Super food in a lively place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We went to Chin Chin early on a Saturday (about 5.00 pm) and it was packed. However we quickly were seated at one of the few tables left. We were recommened this restaurantby friends in Melbourne and it met expectations. The food was top-class modern Thai some dishes traditional others more modern/fusion. All meals were excellent and we finiished every plate. Wine and beer was expensive (particularly for an Asian restaurant) but our bottle of Pinot Grigio at $48 (about the cheapest) was very good. The thing I really liked about this place was the great service and the friendly and lively atmosphere. There really is a buzz about this place. We loved it!

“Best Asian lunch in groovy hip place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Walked in on a Wednesday for one of the best lunches I've had lately. Service excellent, light, bright and groovy decor. The food is made for sharing and flavours are fresh , Asian fusion and all choices looked great. One of my new faves in Melbourne.

“Fill your senses............”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Chin Chin is a great option if you have plenty of energy ! First there is the funky decor and the wait for a table/space while parked at the downstairs bar, then there is the hectic dining space, with every horizontal space a potential eating spot! This restaurant definitely buzzes! This was our second visit to Chin Chin, the first time we ate at the bar watching the drinks being constructed, this time we were on the bench overlooking the kitchen, unravelling the secrets of some very busy chefs.
The food is fantastic, a substantial menu covering all manner of strong spices and exotic flavours. The staff are helpful and intuitive as to when you need advice, or another drink, or dessert etc. While the food prices are reasonable, the two bugs I have is that the drinks are on the expensive side, and because you cannot book, you need to go with a backup plan - I'm not sure I would risk doing a birthday or big occasion for this reason.

“DID YOU GET LUCKY DANE???”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Great meal here - always. Dane our waiter was more interested in cracking on to the guy at table nearby, so mind not completely on the Job, so didn't get charged for second bottle of wine. The Girl downstairs in the bar (with black bobbed hair) is Fantastic
