Owner description: The moment you step on a Winebus(R) tour you'll know you're in for a good time. We're not wine snobs and we're not into cross-country cruisin' and boozin'. We guarantee a relaxed day of sampling the magnificent wines of the Yarra Valley. We know where the vintages are. Your Winebus(R) tour guide won't bore you to tears with statistics, but they will share their knowledge of wine, especially the cool climate wines of Australia's Yarra Valley. You'll be visiting four wineries and enjoy a superb restaurant gourmet lunch. Chocolate tastings at Yarra Valley Chocolaterie. Your tour guide will take you on a winery tour of Domaine Chandon, showing you how the bubbles get inside a bottle of bubbly.

“Great day out and about in the Yarra wineries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Our 1 day wine tour of the Yarra with Paul was great; offering excellent service and knowledge in a small group. The lunch offered at Oakridge was fantastic and a full glass of a chosen wine to accompany it - great. Loved visiting Punt Road; especially for their cider - we bought a case. Recommend Paul and his 'personal service' tour to anyone looking for a great day. Why drive when you can let Paul do it for you and have him share his knowledge of the area as well as wine too.

“Good fun!”

It's a really good day out, well organised, learnt lots about wine - but nothing too complicated! have subsequently forgotten it all though, the perils of drinking it at the same time!

“Great Way to Spend the Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

My husband and I moved to Melbourne about a month ago and this is the first day trip we've planned--and it was amazing! Paul was an excellent tour guide, both knowledgeable and funny. He made everyone feel welcome and answered all our questions. The tour is capped at 13 people which makes for a very comfortable day. We saw a few "mega bus" style tours around and that seemed rather miserable to be herded around like cattle.

The Chandon winery was very nice, and the property was magnificent. If you want to do an actual tasting, the cost is $5 and then you get $5 off the purchase of a bottle of wine or "sparkling wine" rather than Champagne (take the tour to understand why that is.) You get a full glass of Sparkling wine at this venue.

The one course lunch at the Oakridge winery was delicious, but not that filling. Almost everyone ended buying a burger or sausages from the next winery which just so happened to be having a BBQ that day.

If you drink all the wine at the tastings, it's about a Liter of wine for the day. Enough to make you feel fantastic!

Overall, I recommend this tour and would certainly do it again!

“Highlight of our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Having been on winery tours in Hunter Valley and Stellenbosch before we had high expectations of what the tour would offer, and it didn't disappoint!

I arranged the trip with Paul easily via email whilst still in the UK and our pickup point was a 2 minute walk from our hotel.

My husband and I were a little fragile from meeting friends the night before so the day got off to a perfect start at domaine Chandon with a great hair of the dog full glass of bubbles. We did the tasting as well (a bargain at $5 which you get off any bottle you subsequently buy).

We then went to oakridge where we had a delicious lunch, more tastings followed by two more wineries, the last of which our group sat on the verandah with ciders chatting away until it was time to go.

The day is really well paced, you never felt rushed at any of the wineries and its clear Paul has a great relationship with each of the wineries. Paul's knowledge of the wines is fantastic, as is his manner - he doesn't force his wine wisdom on you but is there whenever you have a question.

We were in a great group of 6 and headed home very merry! My only tip would be whilst the foods great at oakridge the portions are quite small to soak up all the alcohol-our group ended up buying emergency crispbreads along the way!!

“Best day of our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

We found winebus through google and I called Paul to book it the week before we arrived in Melbourne. He was very helpful and booking over the phone was easy.

Our pick up point was a handy 5 minute walk from our hotel and the bus was very comfortable and air conditioned. We started the tour at the Chandon factory which was beautiful as well as interesting and we then had a full glass of sparkling wine as well as tastings. I also bought some sparkling rose at a very reasonable price.

We then had a beautiful lunch with a stunning view and some more wine tastings at oak ridge, before continuing on to cider tastings and a final wine tasting.

The group was lovely, the tour guide was knowledgable and the yarra valley to die for.

Highly recommend!
