“A great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

I stayed for a week while attending the Australian Open tennis. Although this is a large casino resort, the room was quiet and of high standard. My room rate gave access to the Crystal Club, a private lounge/breakfast area which is an oasis in such a busy hotel and is recommended. As well as the buffet breakfast; afternoon tea and early evening drinks are complimentary. Location-wise it is on the south side of the river amid lots of bars and restaurants. Very easy to walk to the central business district and shopping streets by taking one of the bridges over the river. Large, imposing and very busy at the weekend it may not suit those looking for a relaxing hotel but nevertheless five star all round.

Thank you for your kind comments after your recent stay with us at Crown Towers.

As you mention, the property is unique in that it is located very conveniently to so much of what Melbourne has to offer. Hotel access is entirely separate to the Casino and this has allowed us to maintain a separation that some guests look for, while being adjacent to the Casino space, should our guest choose to use these facilities.

Whilst the area can be busy on the weekend with so many restaurants and bars on offer, we do have a few very "quiet corners” of the property, such as Crown Spa and the Crystal Club that you mention.

I do look forward to welcoming you again and appreciate your feedback.

Kind regards,

Great stay for last night in a King Room on 21st Floor with lovely view of city. We booked the Experience package that included room, bubbles, parking and breakfast. Stayed here on several occasions previously and last visit thought that the hotel had started to look a bit "tired and dated!". Not this time! This visit exceeded our expectations as the hotel has been refurbished and it is back to its best! We had a lovely King room - clean, modern, spacious and tasteful. Well equipped too! Bed was beautifully comfortable and bathroom clean and very well appointed.
Gymnasium was modern, large and everything worked!
Staff were friendly, professional, helpful and polite.
Breakfast in the conservatory was good however could be improved by having signage of what each item was for health conscious people!
Suggest that the coffee be improved to match Melbourne's high standards - it was disappointing.
Othewise everything was lovely and we would recommend and return without hesitation!
Thanks!

Thank you for your comments after your recent stay at Crown Towers.

I was delighted to read of your impressions of the hotel and pool/spa since your last visit. Your kind comments about the team are also appreciated.

Whilst different coffees are served from restaurant to restaurant, I have shared your comments with the management of the Conservatory specifically as well as your suggestion relating to the “healthy choices” signage for the buffet. Thank you for both of these observations.

We look forward to welcoming you back again sometime.

We stayed in a studio room on the 28th floor. The room was huge & beautifully decorated in black & cream with gorgeous chandeliers, a king size bed with big fluffy pillows, the bed was very comfortable - we had the best nights sleep. There was a separate walk in robe and the bathroom was huge very stylish including a tv built in the wall above the bathtub - very indulgent. The view of Melbourne & out to the bay was gorgeous with a chaise lounge by the window to enjoy the view. This hotel has all the bells & whistles of a 5star property including remote control blinds & curtains. It's connected to the crown casino complex so plenty of things to do & see - if you want to leave the room that is!
You'll pay for a studio room but it is well worth it! I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I've stayed at Crown Towers several times over the years and most recently in November last year and I still find it the best in Melbourne. The hotel itself is very classy from the lobby, foyers, hallways, rooms and bathrooms. The place still looks brand new. The beds are incredibly comfortable, room service is always hot and tasty and the pool and spa area is just divine and very relaxing. Being part of Crown also means you have all the wonderful (and expensive) shops and restaurants at your fingertips and the Melbourne CBD is just across the river. Highly recommended.

Although I live in Melbourne I was fortunate to stay at Crown Towers for a weekend for a special occasion. It really does live up to its hype as a luxury hotel however if you are a tourist to this great city I'd recommend staying somewhere more central to the laneways of the city - otherwise its just crown and the casino and everyting else seems so far away.

Rockpool bar NOT the restuarant is a great choice for the Wagu burger without pushing your bill over the $200 mark.

Room Tip: city rooms cost more but you get the twinkling lights - you can get this from the bars anyway.

I was glad to read that you enjoyed your visit to Crown Towers and that we were able to meet your expectations of luxury.

Our location on the river means that our guests get a great outlook back over the entire city or an outlook across the Bay. And with Museums, the Aquarium, Casino, Exhibition Centre plus so much more all within a kilometre of the Hotel, we consider the property an ideal location for visitors to this great city.

Thank you again for your kind comments. It is nice to read the impressions of a Melbourne local of the Hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel three times and always love it - The hotel has a beautiful foyer and the rooms are comfortable and spacious- we opted for a Crystal Club Suite and it was well worth the extra $$-breakfast, afternoon tea and drinks and canapes in the evening all included- as is a concierge and business office- Also the location of the Crown is excellent - right on the Yarra River at Southgate so we park your car and walk everywhere. The Melbourne aquarium is right across the bridge-, so are shopping streets . The pool area has a Zen feel to it - bamboo and soft colours and is fantastic for kids - two pools actually - one for toddlers and one that is about four feet deep and long enough to do laps if it is not too busy. There is a really big workout facility overlooking the pool -nice ambiance and you can walk out to the tennis courts and garden area- love this hotel!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Yarra River the higher the better - we were on the 23rd floor and th...
