I stayed for a week while attending the Australian Open tennis. Although this is a large casino resort, the room was quiet and of high standard. My room rate gave access to the Crystal Club, a private lounge/breakfast area which is an oasis in such a busy hotel and is recommended. As well as the buffet breakfast; afternoon tea and early evening drinks are complimentary. Location-wise it is on the south side of the river amid lots of bars and restaurants. Very easy to walk to the central business district and shopping streets by taking one of the bridges over the river. Large, imposing and very busy at the weekend it may not suit those looking for a relaxing hotel but nevertheless five star all round.
