The rooms are quite old/out of date, bathroom was filthy. TV was old, only had about 2-3 working channels. Needs a lot of TLC! Location is good though - close to Southern Cross station and heart of CBD.

the hotel is perfect location as it is near southern cross station and 15- 20 min walk to cbd. however the rooms and service were very disappointing. reception staff on arrival unhelpful. we had previously requested early check in as arrived at 6:30 am but staff were not helpful or did not try to accomodate at all. when we went to our " deluxe double room", dust and dirt everywhere in room, no main light, mould in bathrooms, fingernails and cigarette butts outside the window. poor tv service also unable to see screen. normally I wouldnt be fussy about this type of thing but since we had paid extra for a double deluxe room we expected more!

We booked this hotel with flight center, and it was " The Hotel Enterprise", when we arrived from NZ, we were horrified, the reception and lobby was nothing like what was in the book or on the internet, as we checked in we were informed that new owners / management had just taken two weeks prior to our arrival. We were traveling with a 8 month old, and a 6 year old, we were given a disgusting run down Courtyard room, which was out of the way in the corner of the building next to the housekeeping storage . There was no restaurant, at that time as it was getting renovated. Our room was full of fleas, our baby was eaten alive. We notified reception and straight away they had us a new room , not a courtyard one. And were very embarrassed about it all, and were going out of their way to help us. The new room was much cleaner and nicer, unfortunately we had only 2 days in it,( we should of spoken up about how disgusting the room was earlier, then maybe our baby wouldn't of been eaten alive by fleas in his porta cot).
Okay so all in all our stay was poor, but due to no fault of the new owners/ management, which were very helpful, polite, and were trying their best during a take over.
All I can say is thank goodness, it has been taken over , otherwise it would be a condemned building by now.

The hotel is ok, very well situated in the heart of Melbourne, near tram stops and the train station.
The rooms are ok with large beds and all the facilities. However, I believe the price is quite high for having (and being bitten by) bedbugs. This is the only reason why I wouldn't come back to this hotel.

Myself and my brother have been across for the footy every year for the past decade and keep coming back. The name has changed, but it is still very much the same hotel enterprize as it has always been.

Clearly the two positives of this property are the location and price. Consistently the cheapest accommodation outside of a backpackers and we have stayed at other places along Spencer street and find the rooms here the best value. Restaurant next door, taxi rank around the side, 5 min walk to train station, crowd, etihad stadium etc

They are tired rooms though. The twin share courtyard rooms that we purchase were updated over 5 years ago and havent been touched since. Housekeeping obviously try their best but the rooms still feel very used. But as they old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Beds are comfy although the pillows are getting more and more used, to the point where i needed two to sleep - unusual for me.

Staff are always nice. We had the same staff greet us year after year but obviously the team has changed when the property changed hands.

Internet in the room is OK, but expensive, and they now charge for $2 per bag for luggage storage which is a bit disappointing.

People who complained about the noise on here have a case - there is no noise insulation - but really, if you stay in the CBD on a weekend what do you expect? Ask for a room away from the roads if you must.

So in brief, a good value cheap hotel in a great spot that is overdue for an upgrade. But if all you want is a bed to sleep in at night, stay there now before the prices go up.

Room Tip: Use the lift on the left. The one on the far right is older than time and is unreliable.

Stayed at this property during the Australian Grand Prix. Conveniently located near a tram stop and good pizza from the parlor next door but I am afraid that is where the good news end. Service was poor to say the least, staff did not seem to pay much attention to guests. My room had a courtyard view if you even can call it that. Very noisy and outdated room. Seemingly good value does not make up for this poor experience, even for a one-nighter.

After reading reviews for this hotel I was expecting the worst and wondering what I had let myself in for. Was pleasantly surprised. Stayed in a superior deluxe room. While it was dated, there was a flat screen TV and everything worked, bed was very comfortable. Room was spacious and clean and serviced daily - the decor meant it could never be sparkling clean but was OK. Good and cheap, buffet breakfast was included. Hotel is nothing flash but doesn't pretend to be. Really convenient to convention centre and CBD. Would certainly go back - good value for money

Room Tip: Was on 4th floor in a superior deluxe room. Trafiic noise minimal and curtains closed out light from...
