“Enjoyed location however room was too hot for sleeping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Location was great, enjoyed close proximity to lots of shops, Prahran market, cafes and restaurants. Breakfast at restaurant was nice. Only negative was when trying to sleep found the room was too hot and I couldn't seem to change it myself from within the room, however I never mentioned it to staff either so I can't really complain. Also, it seemed the kitchen staff were having an argument while we were having breakfast one morning, as we could hear it very clearly from the restaurant. Didn't seem professional for the type of venue, but once again never mentioned it to staff.

That goes for the Como, where the best free things are the smiles on the faces of the staff, the great attitude to customer service and a willingness to go beyond. I have stayed there a dozen times in the last two months and I have not had a bad experience from the rooms through the F&B and recommend it highly. It is the perfect location, just on the edge of Melbourne for the Chapel street shopping and eating experience.

Stayed here recently for a romantic weekend away. The staff were lovely, very accommodating and friendly. We had a King Spa room and loved the quiet secluded feel. My one major issue with this room was that it wasn't quite a "King" bed. There were two single beds pushed together and for the whole weekend one of us would end up in the crack between the beds or sleeping on either side of the abyss, not quite the romantic time we had envisaged. We were also surprised by the lack of extras in the room. We had a spa bath, but no bath foam, a very small radio and very limited channels on the TV. It just felt like it needed an update to include modern technology. Other than that, we loved our time there. It was close to everything, the pool area was clean and warm and the rooms were well cleaned. Probably won't go back because of that bed.

Room Tip: Don;t spend the extra money on a King size room if you actually want to sleep in the same bed!

Stayed here with partner last week. Put in request when booking hotel to see possibility of early check-in. Then called twice to make sure that request was in their system(our flight was reaching Melbourne at 8 am in morning). Reached Melbourne and called hotel to check if any chance of early checkin, front staff advised nothing until 11am. We head out for breakfast and reached hotel at 12, still no room. Because we were there to attend conference there were people who we knew, they all got early checkin except us. After waiting 2 hours in lobby, finally got room. $250 pn for a room, was the worst spent of my life. Would have stayed in much better hotel for that price. Bed was uncomfortable and air con kept changing to 21. But all acceptable if staff were nice. Front staff was very rude and unhelpful. If you looking for nice time then this is not right place. Location is handy though. We felt robbed when doing checkout. If manager of the hotel is reading this, please have a word with staff regarding customer service or may be require retraining. For readers, hotel is good for location and 'standard' nice. But not may be for $150 a night not anything more.

It was a great place to stay... We can't wait for our next visit.

Thank you to The Como Melbourne for making our weekend one of the best we have
had in a long time.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The beds are divine and if we didn't have weight restrictions on our luggage, we would have definitely bought the pillows, as there is an option to buy with very resonable prices starting at $20 to $60.

Great location with walking distance to great restaurants and shops. First time not staying downtown and would definitely be coming back. Next time my wife will join me as she will love the Km's of shops on Chaple St.

Stayed her with two girlfriends for a relaxing girls weekend and we we're all very happy and satisfied with our stay. Our room was a open plan Japanese garden room with an outside Japanese garden them courtyard.... Just perfect! It was very clean, spacious, beautiful bathroom amenities and a deep bath with jets for relaxation! The hotel had other facilities but we didn't use them as we had our own thing planned but the entry, staff and room service was very nice. Very conveniently located on chapel street close to everything. I highly recommend the como if this is the location you would like to be in instead of the city.
