“Great spacious apartments in fanatastic location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2010

Great serviced apartments with separate bedroom and fully equipped kitchen, most rooms even with small balcony. There is a big swimming pool and a well equipped gym at the top floor with a nice view over Southbank. The location if great, walking distance to Federal Square, Docklands and just around the corner from river Yarra with the restaurants filled promenade. As we indicated in our that it was our honeymoon we found a bottle of champagne in the fridge!

After reading the reviews on trip advisor I was looking forward to a lovely stay.
When I walked inot the room 702 the carpet was all stained there was only a 2 seater lounge for a family of four.
The whole apartment was tired and in need of refurbishment. At $300.00 per night I expected a lot more. There was constant noise from the traffic and also there is no room service on the weekend and only from 5.30 to 9.30 during the week and a limited menue at that.I ahve travelled and stayed at a number of hotels ans this one is certiamly at the bottom of this list.Dont stay here try the Langham which is closer to SouthBank , had porters , looked elegant and professional etc.
Good luck and happy travels

I was so impressed with the staff at the Mantra Southbank. Everyone went above and beyond to help make our stay really comfortable and enjoyable! I really feel they went that extra mile that I'm not sure I've experienced elsewhere. Thanks!

Over the past few years I have stayed here quite alot. Considering its location, cost, and customer service level it just makes sense.

I stayed at the Mantra Southbank with 3 other mates in room 1303 in January. The location of the hotel was pretty good, not far from most thing and almost across the river from the Flinders Street train station. Can I say it was a boys weekend and I did not check out too much of our room or the hotel. What I can say is that check in and out was fine, the two bedroom room was a good size and clean. The kitchen appeared to be well stocked with utensils and there was a mini bar in the fridge, which I have not seen in a self contained apartment before. My friends told me the pool was good and the restaurant on the ground floor looked OK and at a reasonable price. Best thing about the room is that they supplied clothes washing detergent and the toiletries were nice. Worst thing was the bath towels, they were very thin.

Stayed here during the Australian Open so as expected the prooce we paid was inflated, but despite this, we had a very clean, modern 2 bedroom room on a lower floor. room was very clean and had a pleasing lemon odor to it!

location is ok, tucked away a bit just out of the hustle and bustle of the CBD but still easy walking distance to all the action!

Reception staff were very helpful and alive and were more then happy to help when needed! room was great, had everything we needed as expected by a Mantra peoperty, we requested more towels and they were brought up within 5 mins! room had 2 balconies and a little outdoor terrace overlooking melbourne! noise was minimal at night, only downside was that you could h ear the road traffic on the lower floor during peak hour in the morning...so definitely request a higher floor!

Leisure facilities are amazing, all located on level 18th! the indoor pool was heated and had great views of melbourne, so did the spa! there is also a outdoor terrace too to lounge in the sun! sauna was well used too! gym seemed to be adequate, although not big, seemed to have all the basic gym needs one would need for a decent workout.

would def stay again!

We stayed at this place for a girls shopping weekend. When we got our room it stank of greasy fat (our room had kitchen facilities). Someone came up and sprayed the carpet with a deoderiser but it didn't really do much. There was rubbish in the cupboard from the last room occupant and the room was generally tatty and grubby. Even though we were 8 stories up traffic noise was still quite loud and woke us numerous times during the night. But the most alarming thing was that after a full day's shopping we returned to the hotel to find our room door open and unattended (housekeeping had been in and re-made the beds, however they did not replace all the bath towels and we had to ask for more). Being all female this was quite a concern as to who might have been in our room not to mention that fact that some of us had money stashed in our bags (no safe) and passports to check in for our flights which could have been stolen. We were given a simple verbal apology by the manager which we beleived was pathetic and we felt like we had been brushed off. On checkout nothing was mentioned and we were left feeling very dissspointed and angry. I would not reccommend a stay at Mantra Southbank Melbourne to ANYONE.
