“One night in Melbourne makes a brave man humble....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012

OK the song was different however this hotel was excellent. First class service from doorman to desk clerk, I cannot believe this wasn't my bed it felt as though I was at home. The rooms were large, luxurious and so comfortable it was a bit disappointing to go shopping, lol. Staff in this hi\otel chain are trained well and all of them have the ability to make your stay easier, Noosa, Port Douglas and now Melbourne. So central to everything and a pool, steam room and jacuzzi. Breakfast was good too, if I could live here I would.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

I recently stayed at the Westin in Collin Street for 3 nights whilst on business. The staff were all friendly which made we feel very welcoming. The heavenly bed i did not find was that great...i think it maybe time to replace theire mattresses or it could be that i got a room that has been well used... if i slept too close to the edge of the bed, i felt like i was going to fall out. The only other criticisms i would have is that the bath towels are starting to look worn and smell a bit too much of a commercial laundry (chemical smell) and the internet you could not use wireless, you had to sit at the desk connected to cable!!! I only managed to have one meal in the hotel, due to business commitments, which was breakfast. The breakfast restaurant did not seem overly large for a hotel this size but they still managed a good offering of fresh fruit, pastries, juices and hot dishes. The gym area was good, nice size lap pool with steam and sauna. I had colleagues staying at the Grand Hyatt at the same time which said the hotel looked great but service was lacking.....in comparison what Westin lacked in style they certainally made up for in service. Overall a very pleasant experience and would highly recommend it

Dear Reviewer. Thank you for acknowledging the personal service you received during your stay. Thank you also for your feedback regarding your experience with our Heavenly Bed and bath towels. The beds and towels were all upgraded during a recent refurbishment and we have received very positive comments from guests. We would always encourage you to contact us directly during your stay with your concerns as we may be able to assist with your specific bedding and linen preferences. Regarding internet access, we are currently in the process of confirming wireless internet for all of our guest rooms. Until then, internet is available by wireless router or as you mentioned, high speed broadband. We also provide complimentary wireless access in our Business Centre and Lobby Lounge. We hope to continue to be your hotel of choice for future business trips to Melbourne. Be well.

One of the best hotels in Melbourne. Service is 5 star and staff are very attentive and go out of way to assist you.

Great location as everything is in walking distance. Rooms are huge with great westin custom made beds that are so comfy u don't wanna get up. Room service menu is great and offers all the norms plus some great Asian items. Bathroom has bath and shower and also very spacious. I will be back for sure.

I was very impressed from the warm welcome by the doorman right through to my departure - the attention to the small details gives the true 5 star experience and I really could not fault any aspect of my stay. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and anticipated some of my questions before I asked. I titled this review "a feast for the senses" since every aspect was considered:
Sight: The lobby, hallways and room all tastefully decorated and no matter how hard I looked, I could not find a speck of dust in the room.
Sound: More precisely absence of unwanted sounds! Despite the hotel being packed for the Australian Open Tennis, once inside the room there was absolute silence.
Smell: A pleasant, but not overpowering aroma greeted me as I entered the room; complemented by that of the high quality amenities in the bathroom.
Taste: A welcome gift of delicious Macaroons is an example of those touches which make the experience so memorable
Touch: The "heavenly" bed was very comfortable, but in particular the sheets were so smooth and silky - the best quality I have experienced.
To top it off it is located right in the very heart of Melbourne - thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a street outlook if you don't want to look at a blank concrete wall out your...

This was my first stay in the Westin Melbourne having had several great experiences at the Sydney hotel I was pleased this was our place. We weren't disappointed - we were in town for the tennis and so everywhere was packed but the service never faulted. From great recommendations for cafes to being greeted after my run with an offer of a glass of water, the staff were great. The hotel itself just works really well - decent views from our room, the beds and linen exactly what you expect from the Westin and as always a lovely bathroom. Spacious, modern but classic.

Location is also perfect - walking distance to the tennis and the lovely lanes as well as great cafes and restaurants.
recommend everytime.

We recently visited Melbourne to attend the Australian Open Tennis. We were delighted to discover the tennis center was an easy walk. The location can't be beat for restaurants or shopping either. The staff couldn't be nicer. The gym and pool are great. The rooms very nice, very nice. Definitely recommend.
