Arriving for a girl's night out with my 8 year old daughter, my first impressions of the Hotel were excellent. Very well located, a friendly greeting, my car was whisked away to be parked and check in was quick and efficient. The size of the room was a pleasant surprise - two large rooms, dining table and chairs, work desk, a practical and substantial kitchenette, separate toilet, bathroom and powder room and a cute little nook with a chaise in the bedroom window to sit and watch ..... Well, there will be no watching as the outlook is onto the adjoining building. No matter.
We enjoyed the fact that there were 2 tv's - I could watch the news whilst my little one was entertained in the other room.
The pool was a great part of the overall experience and turned out to be a popular place for many. We swam in the evening and morning and on both occasions the pool and spa were well patronised. I imagine it could become very crowded at busy times.
The BIG letdown for me was the buffet breakfast. Possibly THE WORST buffet breakfast I have ever encountered.
I paid $45 for an adult and child and we later went out for breakfast. The food reminded me of an old fashioned guest house. Nothing looked appealing. The mushrooms (canned?) and scrambled eggs were in little ramekins (in case we put too much on our plate?) and had a telltale skin on top which indicated they had been there a while. the bacon was as close to raw as bacon could be - the fat not rendered at all and sitting in a warm bain-marie it had salmonella written all over it. There was the ubiquitous asian offering in the form of an unappealing looking chicken congee a platter of cold meats and cheeses (possibly the safest option), canned fruit, tired and less than fresh croissants and pastries and the usual cereals you would find in most suburban households. The only made to order item on the day was an omelette, which I opted for as I knew it would be freshly made. How hard is it to cook an omelette? Overcooked, dry and inedible. The coffee topped off the experience (when it was finally offered) tasteless, watery and luke warm.
In total we consumed one glass of juice, one tiny sausage and one mini muffin for our $45 outlay - and a big disappointment for my daughter for whom the buffet breakfast is an important part of the overall experience.
Might be just a bugbear of mine, but what is it with hotels charging for internet access. Surely in this day and age,a hotel would attract business clientele by offering free broadband. An inexpensive gesture on the part of the hotel which would improve the overall experience. I connected to the internet through my iPhone so did not have to pay, but would be feeling somewhat gypped to find an internet charge on my bill.
A twenty minute wait for the car to be brought around after checkout let me wondering at the $40 parking charge - a little steep I think.
Overall the rooms are comfortable the the hotel is in a great spot. I suggest you dine out or enjoy takeout in your suite.

Whilst it is of course wonderful to read that so many aspects of your stay were enjoyable.. Breakfast in a luxury hotel certainly conjures up anticipation of all the wonderful delights on offer and it is very disappointing that we didn’t get it quite right on this occasion. It is disappointing also to read of the miscommunication regarding your breakfast options as along with omelettes, our egg chef will also prepare poached, fried or boiled eggs to order. To provide a thorough follow up we would be very grateful if you had a few minutes spare to provide some further details regarding your experience. If so please contact our Executive Chef, Ketan Seth, who would be very pleased to personally speak with you, he can be reached on 03 9659 1000 or email@example.com
If inclusions such as internet and parking are of value to you, may I suggest one of our great value packages for any future stays.
