Conveniently located on the corner of Little Collins Street and Spencer Street, this boutique style hotel offers a convenient location, comfortable but certainly not opulent rooms together with friendly, helpful and efficient staff.
We spent four enjoyable nights at the Vibe Savoy during early January. Its location was certainly a big plus. It is situated just across Spencer Street from the Sky-bus city terminal (approximately 20 minutes from Tullamarine Airport by sky-bus) and the Southern Cross interstate and regional railway station. Also, almost immediately next to the hotel on Spencer Street is a tram stop convenient for catching trams to a number of interesting locations including Bourke Street Mall and St. Kilda beach.
Our room on the 10th floor, facing Little Collins Street, provided a good level of comfort with a large and comfortable bed (strangely covered with two separate single quilts), firm chairs and a small but functional bathroom. There was adequate hanging space for clothes, a small sideboard topped with a small television and containing tea and coffee making facilities as well as nibbles (at a price) and a small bar fridge fully stocked with “mini-bar” beverages.
The reception staff were exemplary. Check-in and check-out were both fast and hassle free. On check-in, we were allowed access to our room at 12.30pm, ie. 90 minutes before the standard check-in time. At check-out (10.00am), we were able to store our luggage in the concierge’s store room until we were ready to catch our sky-bus to the airport at 2.00pm. Very convenient and much appreciated.
Some small negatives, included very dirty widows obscuring the limited view from the room, a couple of obvious mould spots in the shower alcove and exorbitant prices for the mini bar beverages and associated nuts, crisps and chocolates. (tip - there is an IGA supermarket just along Spencer Street where drinks and nibbles can be purchased at reasonable prices).
In summary, the pluses outlined above, far outweighed the few minor negatives. Well worth consideration as accomodation for your next visit to Melbourne.

Thank you for your detailed feedback about your stay in January this year at the Vibe Savoy Hotel. The hotels location is very convenient to all our guests and a definite selling point for the hotel. I am pleased the hotel team exceeded your expectation with their service, as this is an area we continually look at being the best we can be. Your feedback on the external windows is being addressed next month with a window cleaning program set up to get this done.
