“Great location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2012

I like this boutique hotel. Perfect location close to the Airport Bus Terminal and the CBD. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms are also fitted out well. The cleanliness of the room could be improved with hairs still in the bathroom and food wrappers under the bed. Also I found the internet to be expensive for the very poor strength of connection.

RECENTLY STAYED AT THIS HOTEL FOR TWO NIGHTS WHILST ATTENDING A SEMINAR
Recently stayed at this hotel for two nights hilts attending a seminar held at the Vibe. On arrival I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Had stayed here before for a conference and so was astonished to find myself in aroom half thesize of the previous one. Though I could cope with this but when thepeoplenext door arrive home I was embarrassed to find myself able to hear their every word. Unfortunately I froze all night as I couldn't find any on controls for the air. I had totally forgotten that many, many years ago controls were to be found on bedside cabinets. Rooms were fairly clean, had to get down on the floor to use a power point, then found it didn't work. Hairdryer did not work either. Bathroom very small and pokey, toiletries very limited (worst I have seen, not even a shower cap. Hotel is now a bit outdated but location is quite good for travellers....Southern Cross station, Skybus etc.

Room Tip: Don't use Room 701 if you are claustrophobic.

that is what was in our cupboard poooy underwear and the manager took us to a new room that was not clean bad manager should have check the next room before taking us in there paper in cupboard and on top where from Nov 11 top of fridge black and drinks out of date they need to get new cleaning staff. Girl on front counter that check me out should not have made a fuss as we had talked to the manager the night before mad us feel unwelcome as did the waiter at breakfast

Room Tip: do not go there until it is cleaned

Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay at the Vibe Savoy Hotel.
Allow me to apologise for placing you in the position of providing you a room that was clearly not acceptable for use. I have personally addressed your feedback with the housekeeping department and the appropiate action has since been taken. The hotel had made contact with you from your internal feedback form, however we had not heard back from you. I am happy to discuss this matter further with you, and can be contacted at the hotel if convenient for you.
Kind Regards

The location next to the rail station is very convenient. There are loads of shops all around. The staff is very pleasant and made me feel welcome after a long journey. If only the upkeep of the rooms matched the spirit of the wonderful staff, this would be a solid 4 star hotel.

Unfortunately, decision like charging $22 per day for subpar Internet access (that will not connect a smartphone or tablet) is bringing there place down. Aside from the high fee, connecting was not intuitive. When you get connected a screen will ask for an access code to proceed. There is no indication as to where one might obtain such a code on the screen, or anywhere within the room. A call to the front desk and a lengthy hold confirmed the the code is issued by the front desk, but the card on top of the desk made no mention of obtaining the code from the front desk.

The rooms are quite small, but certainly acceptable for the business traveler. The biggest issue is the lack of cleanliness in the rooms. My room had built up mold all over the bathroom and I am very allergic to mold. The bath had a build of some unknown scummy substance. The floor was speckled with stains of very size and colour. The electrical outlets are very low on the wall, actually touching the floor. This position makes it impossible to plug in a power voltage reducer, as a result I had no peer for my laptop.

There is quite a lot of traffic noise and the rooms have thin walls. I felt a bit awkward in hearing every bit of a very passionate evening in the room next to mine. Thank goodness I brought along some ear plugs.

If you need a place to plugin and get connected, there is a Gloria Jean's coffee shop just one block away, they offer free wifi. The tea was quite good as well.

Aside from the lack of cleanliness, there is nothing wrong with this hotel. It is very overpriced for the area, but it is a 2.5 star hotel, just itching to become a four star if the management would invest a bit more in keeping the rooms tidy. If the rooms could be cleaner, I would say that this hotel would be worth the price based upon the great location and the excellence of the staff.

Great convenient location to Southern Cross (Spencer Street) Station and the Skybus from the airport. There's nothing majorly wrong with the place, staff were friendly, room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable. It's just that I've just stayed in 4 star places that are nicer, so wonder whether the cost of $200NZD (expedia special) is justified e.g. Aircon controls looked like they were straight out of 1990, bathroom was a bit tired.

Lovely clean room, plenty of pillows, for somewhere so close to the train station and with trams running around the corner this hotel is very quiet. Our rooms were ready way before 2 pm check in, staff were happy to hold our luggage after we had checked out so we could look around the city some more. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be staying here again, and again

Room Tip: We were on the 10th floor. Very quiet here

We loved the location. Great for the Skybus from the airport. Great for trams to the Australian Open. The staff was young and super friendly. There was a minor problem with our room that they took care of quickly and professionally when I brought it to their attention related to whether there was a city view or not. Reasonably priced by Australia standards as well.
