“Tired and shabby but conveinient to hospitals.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Stayed here as needed to be close to Royal Women's Hospital. Location excellent for proximity to hospital precinct and lots of good restaurants and cafes near by. Unfortunately the hotel rooms are not of the standard I would expect from Rydges. We booked an executive room as needed more space for our baby. The room was tired and dated, with a horrible maroon courdoroy couch in it that was grime stained. Curtains had cigarette holes burned in them and bathroom was sad too. It was very cold when we stayed and with a small baby we wanted to keep the room warm. Had to have the AC/heater set to 30 degrees the whole time and it only just kept the chill off the air, but was by no means warm. Room faced flemington rd but thankfully the traffic noises were not too loud. I will definitely look for other options in the area if I need to stay close to the hospital again.

We travel to Melbourne on a regular basis for appointments at the Royal Children's Hospital and have always stayed at Rydges North Melbourne. Apart from the ideal location, it is a home away from home for us while in Melbourne. The staff are always very friendly.

It is always clean but the signs of a need for a facelift are starting to show.

Room Tip: If you are staying for a while, the deluxe king room is a comfortable and very roomy stay.

Hotel was clean but definitely needs a face lift. Our window wouldn't close either and the noise from the traffic and trams was a little loud but bearable. Close to some good restaurants as well.

Parking is available for $20 and they let us stay longer which was great!

Good location fir the hospitals and nice food for lunch and dinner were the only qualities of this place. The hall way walls are scratched and need a fresh coat of paint, the room carpet was filthy, the walls were dirty, there was hair on the bathroom tiles which never got cleaned during the few days I spent there. One morning it rained hard and there was water coming through the ceiling. Wifi costs 75 cents a minute! Cannot recommend.

Always stay at Rydges Nth Melb as clean, nice rooms, good food available, close to airport and city. Most importantly great value! Rydges hotels are always an easy choice wherever I stay around the country and when in Victoria, Nth Melbourne is great. I especially appreciate the very friendly staff from checking in or out to the restaurant staff. Wouldn't stay elsewhere
