“Excellent Location, Value and Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2010

Upon arrival, the staff were extemely courteous, friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, clean and luxurious for our Melbourne sejour. We had Flagstaff Garden view. Everything was provided in the room, however there were very few plug sockets! The shower was poor : old dated decor with little power. However, we did get the newspaper delivered daily and Internet Access was free. The laundry service was efficient and value. We did not visit the bar/restaurant during our stay. No spa in the hotel just a jaccuzzi bath - just in case you thought you might like a little pampering. The hotel is just about 500m from the Circle Tram, which is free for everyone to journey around Melbourne. If you prefer to walk it is only about 15min. In addition, Queen Victoria Market is only 5 minutes walk when you turn right out of the hotel. We recommend you go to Anoi Na (Thai) in the city centre - it was exellent and a recommendatoin of the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel for a short staying in Melbourne.

Just got back home today after spending 4 nights at the Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens and would have to say that the hotel, staff and service were wonderful. No complaints about our stay. This hotel was away from the hustle and bustle of the city and in a quiet spot. Our room had a view to the park across the road.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a garden view room on the 9th floor.Got a deal through Trailfinders, stay 3 nights get 4th night free. Room very nice, well furnished, and very clean. Had no problems with any of the staff, found everyone to be very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, Free internet on the ground floor.
We had a problem with paying for the toll bridge,(impossible to avoid this if you are a tourist arriving in Melbourne) We tried to pay it on the internet, without success, but the concierge happily got it sorted for us.
Free bus right outside the hotel, and close to cafe's and restaurants, mostly all within 10 minute walk.
Would happily stay here again

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and only encountered one staff that was suitable to work in the hospitality industry. The rest of the staff, from the front desk, concierge, restaurant, and bar staff, were in my opinion rude and unaccommodating. All requests, such as city information, help with the business center, etc. were met with a disgusted look as if I was more of a distraction to them rather than a valued customer. In addition to the rude service, the hotel decor is dark and all the rooms are non-smoking and there is no place outside to accommodate smokers. I definitely will not be staying at this brand again, and surely not this location.

Stayed here for three nights over a weekend. Hotel appears to be in the financial district and has the feel of a place used for short stays by travelling business people. Placed on the same floor as all the conference rooms. Room was a bit tired and bathroom was very 80's and in need of a major refit. I've stayed in worse hotels, but not great given Radisson's supposedly very high standards.

Wide boy concierge sent me on a 25 minute walk when I asked for a coffee shop close by! Not impressed.

Parking is in a car park round the corner and is a bit of a rip off.

We stayed here whilst the Grand Prix was in town and all the information we required for the event was printed out each day in reception for guests to take away with them. The hotel was clean, rooms were comfortable and the location was perfect to pop round the
corner to Victoria Market for breakfast. Very enjoyable stay and would recommend the hotel.

The hotel itself was in a good location. Free city circle tram to the front left, the main tram lines nearby. We (3 girls) checked in for 2 nights, the purpose of the trip was shopping and good food. The location was in front of the Queen Victoria Markets, so we were able to walk there with no worries. When we checked in, the reception staff were lovely. We were given a room on the first floor, and to our surprise the room was very quiet given the fact that the room was on the road side. It also faced the gardens which was nice. The room was very clean and comfortable, given the fact that we had a roll away bed in there as well as the standard king size.
The spa was good and is on the top floor overlooking the city. The only downfall for say, elderley guests, would be that you get the lift to the top (10th floor) then have to walk another two sets of stairs to reach the gym/spa. This was no worries for us, but some people who can't do steps may find it a little difficult.
My husband had paid for and organised 2 bottles of bubbly to be delivered to us as a surprise (which I have now been told wasn't easy for the concierge to understand) After 1.5hours from him calling the hotel and arranging this, they finally arrived at our room. We then decided to take one bottle down to the bar to sit and drink, and to our amazement, were told we couldn't drink it there!! All in all, I would stay in the hotel again with friends, but definately not for a romantic getaway with the other half.
