“Great hotel, great location, GREAT price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The staff were efficient and friendly and they upgraded our room which was a nice surprise. We were on the 9th floor overlooking the Flagstaff gardens in a king room. The room was small but very clean with modern decor and the view was rather nice looking at the Flagstaff gardens. Our room was quiet and I slept really well. The hotel is well located with a short walk for city shopping, restaurants, docklands, Queen Vic Markets and Melbourne sightseeing, there is a tram stop right outside the hotel if walking isn't your thing! Our package included parking and breakfast; parking was a bonus as most Melbourne hotels charge upward of $30. Breakfast was also a great way to start the day off, lots of variety and all very fresh and appealing. I had a great stay and we will be back again soon!

I found the hotel located in the center of Melbourne that provides good service and reasonable value for money. Coffee is great in the restaurant and breakfast was good as well. Would recommend . I managed to loose my electronic key and reception staff replace once ID was verified.

Stayed here a night before meeting up with friends the following day and moving off to the Nunnery backpackers accommodation.
I chose the Radisson because I had enough Club Carlson points to redeem for a free night.

I walked up to the hotel from Southern Cross and found the walk good, but a little long - it does not seem all that far on the map :)

The room was clean and tidy and perfect for an over night stay.
Check In fast and staff friendly.

The bed was at first was average but by morning I woke up in that once a year perfect comfy position that you never want to move from - but have to :(
The supplied pillows were great, and there was a pillow menu by the bed if you wished.

Only negative point is that the Flagstaff station near by is not open Weekends or Public holidays and the hotel is a bit far away from my regular places I visit.

We booked a mystery hotel deal through wotif, and ended up with our room at the Radisson. When we arrived the reception staff at checkin were friendly and efficient and explained everything we needed to know and let us know how to get in touch with them if we needed anything else.
The room itself was a little.. underwhelming. Fairly small, not really somewhere you could spend much time apart from getting dressed and sleeping. I think I read somewhere that rooms are being refurbished at the moment - this was clearly one of the rooms that hadn't been done yet. It was clean, but very tired looking and the furniture was on the shabby side. The winner, however, was the bed. I've slept in many a rock hard hotel bed in my time and this was not one of them. The standard pillows provided were also not bad, and the option of the pillow menu is there as well.
The bathroom was again small and a little cramped but the shower was pretty good - water saving shower heads but well designed ones.
The staff were always friendly - even the housekeeping staff we passed in the passageway greeted us with a smile and the reception staff looked up and acknowledged us every time we walked in the front door. Definitely a great team working here.
Not really a lot of attractions on the doorstep, but it's not too hard to jump on a tram and find your way into the heart of the city.
All in all, I'm not sure how I would have felt if I'd paid full rack rate for this room, but then accom in Melbourne is generally overly expensive. To have this room for the discounted rate we paid we were happy campers for sure!

Nice touches by management who care.
Get a business class room, more extras
Restaurant has nice friendly staff, but needs a bit more atmosphere/ambience
But fine for an overnight
Bit of a dead area around the hotel

Room Tip: Business class rooms and park side for view or back hotel for quiet although theirs a hige apt block...

This hotel was great! The room was very nice, the staff very helpful, all meals very nice and reasonably priced, happy hour was great prices also.

Unfortunately as it was only a quick overnight stay I did not get to use the pool, gym or spa but it looked great.

I am even thinking about visiting here on a personal trip to enjoy it all over again on a much relaxed trip.

The breakfast buffet was the ultimate for foodies!

We were pleasantly surprised at the tranquil pace of this city hotel. Staying on a Saturday Night it is located just out of the bustle of the main streets. Nice interior and room was very clean - Bed was very comfortable and nice quality linen. We had a Park View Room which facing the street/park but no noise and had a peaceful night sleep. Breakfast was very good and staff very pleasant and obliging. Service is excellent. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Room 615 Parkview - Quiet on a weekend
