“Great Business Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

I stay here at least once a month. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable. It's ideal for business travellers or those wanting to to go to the tennis, footy, cricket, F1. The staff are friendly and efficient

This hotel was actually ok. But not being local we didn't realize it wasn't in the CBD - you can't walk it. Although there is a tram close by. Rooms were fine, food ok too. Apart from the location the other thing that really put me off was the staff on their mobile phones - one tall guy in particular - seems to be the manager of reception as he was in a suit each time we saw him. SMS on your own time ... totally unprofessional!

My boyfriend & I stayed here for our anniversary & got the movie marathon package. When I booked I requested city views and I was not disappointed. We had lovely view from our room on the seventh floor and got to choose from at least 20 new release movies plus other older ones. Breakfast was ok maybe a bit crowded. Pool & spa was nice on the roof, wouldn't want too many people there though as area is small.
The only thing we didn't like was the car park. Even for a sedan it was very poky & tight. Wouldn't want to park a big car in there. Also one lift was not working at the time so everyone was relying on the one lift. There didn't appear to be an option of using stairs which would have saved a lot of time queuing waiting for the lift especially around busy times. There needed to be an alternative.
Having said all that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, loved the package we got & have recommended it to friends. If you want to relax in a nice comfy bed, great city views & watch a few movies this is a great way to do it. Looking forward to going back there again soon.

I stayed at this property just for a day, my experience as far as stay is concerned was very very good. However, there were no additional frills attached. The view from my room was a nice MCC affiliate cricket ground that I liked very much. St. Kilda beach and CBD are equidistant from this property and easily accessible by tram.

I arrived in Melbourne without booking a hotel. I walked into Parkview simply because it looked nice and I couldn't be happier that I did. Even with making a last minute reservation I was given a top floor room with a view of the city. The service was fantastic and the room itself was clean and well maintained. Felt like a 5 star hotel. I was very pleased! In fact I've booked a room for the end of the month at this hotel when I am in Melbourne again.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during a conference. I found it very comfortable, the rooms had been upgraded and looked good, the bed was very comfortable and the rooms quiet. All the controls (lighting etc) were straightforward and worked as they should.
The shower was all style over substance - regardless of how you showered, the floor was soaked - at least I wasn't the one cleaning up each day.
I was in room 316 overlooking the park. Ask for a room with a park view otherwise you are left staring at an officeblock and not a very interesting one at that.
Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and the service was really good.
The bar and restaurant were pleasant, the buffet breakfast had the usual choices and was fresh. Room service meals are very expensive for the quality. I had 3 room service meals and they weren't worth what I paid for them.
There is a tram stop outside the hotel and the city is a 20-30 min walk away. Either way you are close to everything. There's a 7/11 convenience store across the road. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a park/city view otherwise you will overlook an officeblock.

Apart from no view, one should have a word to the interior designer, or better still make them try and sleep in the room while their partner needs to go to the bathroom. There is no separate bathroom light, when you finally find it on the outside wall it not only lights up the bathroom, but also floods the foyer and wardrobe area with light, which of course therefore is clearly visible form the beds - what fool designed this. Apart from this the hotel had flooding, which had knocked out all of the in room Internet connections, and still was not repaired on departure three days later. The staff tried to be very helpful with the connections in the Foyer area, but hard to do your Skype calls in public.
