“walk around melbourne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

The botanical gardens are a free part of the melbourne landscape which are a great way to relax and chill. the gardens do get their fair share of joggers and power walkers, dog walkers etc but everyone is getting on with their own lives and they all seem to be very happy. a great place to stop and have refreshments there is a great cafe in the gardens which was a welcome break.

“A little bit of this and a little bit of that.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Shady spots, sunny spots. Soft ground, hard ground, green ground, black ground, brown ground. Tall things, little things and in between in height things that may be black, or green or grey, or brown, or white things which may or may not be providing a home to a variety of creatures. And people of all sizes and ages getting around in all sorts of ways to enjoy this wonderful place some-one so long ago knew we would all love.

“One of the best places in the city”

I love going to the gardens at any time of year. Set aside an afternoon and explore. The gardens are large and worth at least an afternoon if not more...

Very beautiful, well laid out gardens. It has something for everyone. You can admire the flowers and plants, jog around the paths, do photography, entertain the children in the childrens garden, have a picnic etc etc.

“Beautiful. We loved it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

Huge. Lush. Quiet. Free. Not as colorful as it could be, though. Walking distance from main attractions and downtown. Great for family gathering, either for a lunch picnic or just pleasure walk around (Be prepared for lots of walking. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. There's a great Children's park inside the Gardens). Pretty areas with ponds and exotic bird watching. Food areas have great view of water. Great places for photo taking or jogging or biking. Recommended.
