This was a great museum. The reviews on tripadvisor are a bit confusing as it is listed under Melbourne Museum and Museum Victoria. It is one of the 'Musuem Victoria' Museums, but there is not actual single museum with that name it actual refers to several museums. But this one was actually fantastic. The low $10 fee made me feel silly for visiting the expensive aquarium first. This one has tons of great natural history exhibits. Including a giant squid exhibit (which is a rare find). Tons of great bug and dinosaur exhbits. I really enjoyed thsi museum and would recommend as a must see to anyone in Melbourne.

Great space laid out well. Only disappointment there appeared to be limited Indigenous exhibits?Staff were helpful and friendly. Easy to get to by free tram or free city bus.

“Interesting selection of exhibits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

A museum that covers a lot of different subjects and whilst some are clearly geared to schools and groups, it is very well laid out and has some very interesting areas. The history of Melbourne is interesting as was the exhibition of dinosaur skeletons and Australian animals. Its worth taking in a film at the IMAX as well.

Wide collections of display and informational.

However there is a fee to it. But it will be nice for first timers to see this museum. Ecology, human, dinosaurs, Melbourne culture/history...

Beisdes the museum, shd visit the outdoor shelter garden in the centre... Rainforest settling... with birds, fishes, undergrowth...

Simple and yet informational... Appaluse for converting a simple pen space to a rainforest garden.... Unique i must say...

Enjoy the day @ the museum

Wasn't worth the $10 entry, Quite frankly I found it very boring, considering other Museums in other States are FREE, Wouldn't bother going again, will go to museums that are free
