“Elegant and Stylish in peaceful surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2010

I love the location of Park Hyatt, surrounded by beautiful gardens and St Patricks Cathedral, and within easy walking distance to the theatres, restaurants and shopping. My room was in the Cathedral Wing and overlooked the beautiful St Patricks Cathedral, which looks stunning day or night. The room was huge and it was great to soak in a hot tub whilst gazing into the gorgeous gardens of St Patricks Cathedral, preparing myself for a night with the "Jersey Boys" - Oh What a Night... The Tea Lounge had a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere and overlooked the quaint courtyard area of Trilogy Gardens. It would be very nice if the Tea Lounge's opening hours were longer as it closed at 5pm. The service of the hotel in general could be improved upon, but overall my stay was very enjoyable and relaxing.

Very expensive, but it is one of Melbourne's best hotels. Have stayed here a number of times, once in a suite overlooking St Patrick's Cathedral which had a large balcony with deck chairs, this was a bit poor in terms of quality as it had a very concrete feel to it, but the view was immense. Also stayed in a standard room, and the tv in behind glass in the spa bath was divine. First and foremost, if you have the cash and are looking to stay in Melbourne right next to the park, with a short walk to Collins/Little Collins st, then this is the hotel to choose.

This hotel is amazing. The rooms are clean and gorgeous. The bathroom has a great big bath and tv and large shower. Massive wardrobe. The staff were so helpful and I never wanted to leave. The gym, pool and spa are all amazing also. We also stayed at the Langham in Melbourne (which is actually rated higher on TripAdvisor) and is no where near as nice (actually quite dissatisfied with the Langham). Would strong recommend the Park Hyatt - absolutely beautiful.
Walking distance to Flinders Street and CBD.

On the edge of the CBD. Beautiful rooms, especially the bathroom. Great service. Had breakfast at Cumulus restaurant, a five minute walk away in Flinders Lane which was recommended and lived up to its recommendation.

A well designed, good looking art deco style hotel, in a quiet, relaxed location in central Melbourne. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, but lack a few of the individual touches that I have found in other Park Hyatt hotels globally. The work space in the room is not well thought-out, being cramped and lacking power outlets. The service in the bar was poor and it was disappointing to return to the hotel at 11-30pm to find the bar shut for the night.
On a positive note, it was very relaxing, quiet and comfortable, with many smart shops, cafes and attractions in easy walking distance of the hotel.
In general it lacked that personal feel, that I have found in other Park Hyatt Hotels that makes them stand out from the herd.

I cant really fault this hotel. It was lovely... The service was great, the food was good too...

I think there were some times where the staff missed the minor details but overall a more than pleasant stay..

Would I stay again, probably not. You could probably get far more luxury for a similar price in many other city hotels..
