“Elegant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

only negative: reception's lack of personality but the property is well kept, quiet and elegant, ,quiet, understated and the way a great hotel stay should be
If I had to compare this to the Conrads I've stayed at hands down I would stay at the Park Hyatt again

Dear ganymededl
Thank you for passing on your feedback. Whilst I can see you enjoyed most aspects of your stay here, I was disappointed to read your comments regarding our reception staff as we recognise that the attitude and friendly manner of all our staff in the hotel is an integral part of our business. This has been addressed with all staff concerned to ensure we are maintaining our customer focus at all times. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and look forward to welcoming you back to Park Hyatt in the near future. Yours sincerely, Robert Dawson – General Manager

This hotel for me, is the ideal hotel, and I would heavily recommend it for everyone.

Be it for business, travels or just a nice relaxing time to treat yourself.

The location is a nice and tucked away with tranquil views, and you get promptly served by the front desk upon arrival, who take care of your car (In my instance I used Valet Parking) or help guests from there taxi cab or whatever your mode of transportation may be.

Once you arrive at the hotel, I can safely say they take care of things from there so you can relax and enjoy your stay.

Both times, I've just needed to go to the front desk to sign in, and the first time my room already had my bags in there and the second time they came shorty after.

The health spa is amazing, and I was very surprised with just how well it helped me relax. There is also a great pool, and a 24 hours gym.

The rooms are fantastic, and so are the staff.

Some years ago, while travelling, I went to the US, and found that tipping was expected for any service that was provided for you.

Though I have no problem with this, it is relaxing to know at the Park Hyatt you can call room service 24/7 and not have to tip and still receive the same eloquent quality of service.

The purpose of my first stay was purely to have some time for myself, and I was so impressed I booked an extra night.

Just recently I returned to show my Mother the Park Hyatt, she normally stays at Crown etc. She was very impressed and will be returning for her own stay sometime.

I have been to many hotels in my years, but this is one of a kind. If you have any issues, all you have to do is raise it with the front desk where they will take care of things from there.

The hotel is visibly very popular, even in its nice tucked away area, with both times staying there the rooms where snapped up like hot cakes.

This hotel, has defiantly won me over.

Rubbing shoulders with the beautiful St Paul's Cathedral and its bevy of brides (some of them destined for a Hyatt reception); this is a hotel built for romance. I can testify to that, after booking in for one night with my husband and then spontaneously extending our stay - calling it a second honeymoon! The club suite certainly trumps any other 5 star hotel room I’ve experienced in Melbourne. It was big enough to comfortably waltz in, so waltz we did! Loved the floor to ceiling opening windows and the love seat, (where hubby watched footy finals while I monopolised the bed). Yes, the bathrooms are as ridiculously luxurious as everyone says, Sigh. The club lounge was presided over by two gracious hosts, who glided around ensuring everything was to perfection and never missed a beat. In the evening you’ll find hot and cold hors’ doevres and damn good deserts and an open bar (there was an odd choice of sparkling on the nights I was there. could I cheekily suggest a nice Australian jansz or deutz or chandon) Day time food is much more minimalist, compared to say Club Sofitel, with simple fruit and cookies on offer. Whatever you do, make sure you get a package including breakfast. Club privileges include a more than adequate continental buffet, served in Radii restaurant Mon-Sat. The Service not only in the club lounge but from housekeeping and bell department was routinely excellent. Thanks to Kamal for sorting out the nespresso machine at 5am!. Tip: the pool can be a little noisy with family fun late morning and afternoon, so perhaps bring your earplugs! If you want to live a little of the Melbourne high life, away from the diamond edged glamour of the Casino strip, head to the leafy enclave of the Park Hyatt. You won't regret it.

We were married here two years and just checked in today for our Anniversary.
I have stayed in Hotels all over the world and this is our favorite by far.
Stunning building, rooms and facilities. Top notch service and oozes sophistication and style. We always stay in a Club Suite and it's truly amazing.

Although a resident in Melbourne, I spent 2 days in the hotel due to works being done at home. The hotel was a wonderful home away from home. The room was an excellent size - spacious, clean, adequate desk space for working and a great Nespresso coffee machine! The bathroom is luxurious - great The room service was quick, but the meals themselves were not the best hotel food I have experienced. The location is good for business, if you need to be located at the top end of the CBD. The location is probably better suited for tourists.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

I spent a Saturday night at the park Hyatt in Melbourne. The hotel is centrally located and I got a good recognition for my status with an upgrade into a junior suite. The hotel and the room was in good condition. The whole impression it left me is an impression of sterile and sad cold interior architecture. The lobby looks the lobby of an office building with dark marmor prevailing, the size of the room was ridiculous compared to the very few pieces of furnitures, the bathroom, even if, as the rest of the hotel, it does the job, was characterized by a lack of harmony and was more the product of some architect who will never spend a night in his/her soulless  creation. All in all nothing to complain but will probably try another place next time I am in town.
