My first trip to Aus. started with a quite average, by UK standards, hotel in Perth, so expectations of what the same sort of cost would bring me in Melbourne were not high. ( I hadn't heard of the "mining dollar" ! ) However on entering the Lindrum, it was immediately apparent that here was a hotel that was in a completely different, and higher league. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, yet professional. I asked for a room in a quiet location, and that was provided ( 206). Room size generous, good facilities, TV+ DVD, bathroom with deluge shower head over bath. The reception / bar area is very attractive and the continental breakfast buffet fresh and extensive ( $24 AU at time of writing). Firstly thank you for choosing Hotel Lindrum on your first visit to Australia.
I am delighted to learn that your expectations were exceeded. We do pride ourselves on our level of service so I am glad to hear that we lived up to our promise.
Our breakfast is generally very well received so again thank you for the mention. Our hotel does have an extensive history and is named after the world champion billiard player Walter Lindrum as the building was a billiard and snooker playing establishment for a period of 15 years hence the restored billiard table and memorabilia still available to play.
We do agree with you that we are in a great position and close to all the attractions that Melbourne has to offer.
We hope to welcome you back in the future.
