“Beautiful Hotel. 5 star experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

This is truly a 5 star hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are very professional and the customer service is excellent. The rooms are quiet and filled with all the best ammenities. It is centrally located and surrounded by some excellent restaurants and shops. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

In last 3 months, I have spent over 20 nights at Intercontinental Melbourne, and it's been a pleasure. The rooms are spacious and cleaner. Staff is very friendlier and is always receptive to my dietary plan. I love the location of the property and it's easy reach to Docklands and SouthGate area.

Looking forward to their new Food Menu which is gonna be a fusion of Western and Asia Dishes.

Great Job Guys!!

Room Tip: I loved the study desks in the room. They were quite spacious and you would feel like working for ho...

It was the staff won me over at this great hotel. Customer service is so important, and the staff members at Interconinental Melbourne tick every box. The building itself is spectacular, and although the rooms may at first seem smaller than counterparts, it is the experience as a whole which leaves the lasting impression; I will be happily returning. A special mention to the staff at the restaurant downstairs, and to Ben, one of the best waitperson I've encountered. I hope you enjoyed your birthday the next day Ben!

A great hotel on Collins Street. Good for both Business and Pleasure as it is in the CBD and near the Shopping Areas.

The trams run right down the street so you can get anywhere as well as ample taxi rank outside.

We stayed there for 9 nights during the Cup season so it was very busy but the staff were always attentive.

Breakfasts were lovely with lots to choose from on the buffet as well as getting eggs etc to order.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequate but there was no bath, just a shower.

There was a fully stocked mini bar. We did not order room service but there was a good menu to choose from.

The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the Southbank & Casino which makes it very convenient for just a nighttime stroll or to get something to eat from the wide range of restaurants there.

I tagged along with my husband fit a work trip with newborn Stella Sunday 25th-27th November 2012. From the moment we arrived Sunday afternoon, to the moment we departed yesterday, the service at the hotel was extraordinary! It reflected a genuine and passionate dedication to, and love of hospitality; of exceeding guests' needs and expectations.
Every detail was perfectly executed, every gesture was petectly considered. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the incredible efforts of Clifford (Concierge desk), and Saskia (Bar). As well as Jacob, Matthew and Chris (Concierge desk).
All of these team mbrs went above and beyond displaying kindness, warmth, and engagement, in addition to sharp and personalized help and efficiency. From helping me with my pram up the stairs into Haigs (Chris on Monday afternoon), to helping me with heavy luggage and asking how our daughters cough and cold were a few days after her doctor's visit (Cliff) and providing well Continuous yet inobtrusive service in the bar (Saskia) - all staff cared for us in a way that will always be remembered and valued. All staff were polished beautifully, happy, attentive, measured and discerning. Everyone displayed a deep and wholehearted committment to ensuring our stay was perfect from beginning to end.
Congratulations and thankyou. I am more than happy to provide verbal confirmation or to discuss my experience further. Thankyou to the team at The Intercontinental Melbourne, Lynette Peters. Room 436.

Husband I booked for 4 days

Service throughout stay from concierge and porters was faultless , always a smile and very helpful with recommendations .

Very nice bar, market lane bar for a night cap.

Room was full off all the mod cons and nice extras, very clean and pillows and bed were excellent -excellent complimentary toiletries and more. Overall nice clean room -not the biggest for a superior king but suited us as we were out most of the day

Good location- 10 min walk to casino/southbank and also federation square

Booked a wine tour through epecurian recommended by hotel and we had a great day out

Good hotel

We booked an executive suite for my husband's birthday. The staff were amazing. Jonathan particularly was so attentive. Loved the high tea, followed by a swim in the beautiful pool. The room was large and well appointed- they upgraded us to a turret suite which was gorgeous. Comfy beds!
Breakfast we took in the main restaurant rather than the executive suite- better range.
Will definitely be doing this again, we are thinking every year!

Celebrated as one of the world’s hottest and best new hotels by both Conde Nast Traveler and Wallpaper* magazines, InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto is a fascinating example of the city’s fusion of old and new. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto represents the resurrection of one of the city’s last remaining examples of 19th Century Victorian Gothic architecture into a timeless and inspiring luxury hotel. Its city centre location on Collins Street is at the heart of the laneways, attractions and experiences that give Melbourne its international appeal. Behind the Gothic façade is a sleek yet intimate hotel that is home to two very different bars – the Bluestone Wine Lounge and the Market Lane Bar – and a variety of dining establishments, including Alluvial Restaurant and Guy Grossi’s exciting new venture, Merchant. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto has also teamed up with Shannon Bennett, providing valet parking for his new Vue de monde restaurant on the 55th floor of the adjacent Rialto building. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto’s warmth and exceptional service belies its size, with more than 250 guest rooms across two soaring wings, including a stunning collection of suites as well as the exclusive Club InterContinental lounge and facilities for premium guests. The hotel’s rooftop is also a destination itself, home to the kitchen’s own market garden and beehives, the Scandinavian-inspired swimming pool and the glass-encased fitness centre overlooking the Melbourne cityscape. Also available is the luxurious candle-lit East Day Spa offering east-meets-west treatments and therapies. Before guests arrive, they can take advantage of the concierges’ passion and Insider knowledge of the city.
