We stayed in a room on the fifth floor and could not believe the road traffic noise. Luckily I packed the ear plugs. The King Bed sadly was two single beds pushed together, hence the large hill in the middle where the two matresses joined did not make for a romantic stay. Breakfast @ $25 per head booked the night in advance was delightful and well worth it. We wanted to eat early at 6pm and the restaurant looked cold lonely and not that appetising or inspirational So we travelled to a Thai in East Bentleigh. We decided not to use valet parking at $34 and parked on the side road for free before but you must leave before 8am. Is there a good value hotel with parking and breakfast for under $200 in Melb. I asked wotif the same question and did not get a reply over a month ago. It appears maybe not.

If you are looking at staying here for business be warned. They will not look after you. After staying here for almost 2 years it has now come to the point where I cannot stand this place anymore. You eiher get the disabled room next to the lift or shoved in a room with 2 single beds. You as at the front desk to ensure that they put this on your profile and usually get a possum stuck in headlights look. You send emails to mirvac and get no responce.

If you want to build your business , look after your business customers. I will be relocating myself and my 3 account managers to another hotel

This is a strange hotel set on Albert Park which is a pretty setting (nice if you want a morning or evening walk around the lake) but not particulalry convenient to get anywhere.

The rooms are large with acceptable furnishings but the floor of the bathroom felt unstable and crunched and cracked underfoot as you walked on it. The housekeeping standards in cleaning the bathroom was also low.

The gym and pool area are quite pitiful and a few pieces of gym equipment did not work

The service from reception staff was unimpressive while the concierge staff were rude and unhelpful.

Having left my (new) luggage with the concierge on the last day, after checking out, i returned 8 hours later to find a large crack through the case. The concierge staff denied any midhandling of baggage but given the way i had seen the bags being thrown about during check out I would not recommend that anyone leave their case at this hotel.

There were several large conference groups that came through the hotel while i was staying there and the hotel staff did not seem capable of handling the groups so there was always a lot of noise and confusion in the lobby area.

I was lucky enough to have a room off on a wing so i was not too badly affected by the noise but anyone staying in the many rooms around the lobby atrium would have struggled to sleep through the regular noise coming from the lobby area.

The buffet breakfast is sparse and very unimpressive compared to other hotels of a similar standard and definitely not worth the fee charged. I found lots of great little cafes within walking distance that offered a significantly better breakfast for a fraction of the price.

There are much better options in Melbourne. Stay away from this one.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights . I found that the carpet outside the bathroom was wet and gave a moldy smell. I complained it to the front desk and was told they were fully booked and there was no way to change it to the new one. So I have to open the window to get rid of the smell. The room and the bathroom was not cleaned properly and it reached the peak on the last day when the room was not even cleaned .I will not recommend this hotel to anyone

I stayed here recently during a weekend in Melbourne.
Shortly after checking-in we realised a group of men had the room next to us, and as the walls are quite thin it was quite loud and it seemed like they were going to party all night.
However after I called down to reception and asked to change rooms, the reception staff and duty manager were very efficient and let us change rooms promptly. It was most appreciated that since I wasn't looking to have a late night that the staff allowed us to move to avoid any further disruption during our stay.
The hotel is in a handy location directly opposite Albert Park and only a $9 cab ride away from restaurants and shops along Chapel Street.
Also to avoid paying the $16 plus it costs to park in their carpark, we just parked in a side street as we managed to find a park that was free on weekends.
Am glad we changed rooms as I saw the group of men in the lobby when we were checking out - they were still drinking at 11am!

Stayed here 3 nights for a conference. What struck me was the service. It was exceptional, and sustained, it never struck a bad note, not once. It was attentive, friendly, excellent and sustained. Our conference was for about 200 people over 2 days, and their attention to allergy issues was fantastic. Plus the food throughout was unusually good, especially the sweet things. They clearly have a very good pastrychef on staff.

The rooms are all different, from speaking to my colleagues. Mine was spacious and comfy, bathroom was huge. Bathrobes and slippers were nice! It's a shame they do the usual aussie hotel thing of soaking people for internet access.. who will be the first to stop this? And it was quiet. Gosh that is a good thing in a hotel. Plenty of traffic outside but inside one's room, you weren't hearing anything from your neighbours or other floors.

It's quite a spectacular hotel, well designed, but you feel comfortable there and not intimidated. I think the staff make the difference there. The guys who do the driveway, porters I guess, are brilliant. Helpful, funny, expert, very memorable.

I want to stay there again.
