“Disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2011

I have stayed in Citigate Albert Park motel twice this year. Both times I have had issues with overcharging on my credit card fees. Both times it appears to be 'mini bar charges.' However I have not used the mini bar at all!

What is most disappointing is the number of times that I have attemoted to resolve this issue with the motel with NO result. The management have failed to return emails or to return phone calls. I have made several STD and mobile calls attempting to resolve the issue, costing me more money. How disappointing Sebel!

The facilities at Albert Park were quite nice which makes it so disapponting that the service has been so poor, resulting in myslef, family and friends NEVER staying there again!

Dear Ms Bell,

I apologise for any inconvenience caused due to the over charging of your credit card, during your recent stay with us. As discussed on the phone, we have been able to resolve the issue and find where the over charging of your credit card came from. This issue will be reviewed and discussed further with my team, to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Thank you again for taking the time to speak with me on the phone yesterday and we hope to be provided with another opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel.

Recently returned from our company conference that was held at the sebel albert park. This was the first time our company had used this Hotel for our company conference. We hold approx 2 large conferences per year and in the past have been held on the Gold Coast.

We were really impressed with the friendly staff as they were always obliging and happy to assist and the food that we were served throughout the conference was excellent, great variety, fresh and tasty.

The sebel accommodation was very comfortable and the gym was decked out with modern equipment and plenty of it.

We really enjoyed our conference at the sebel and I am sure our company will choose this hotel again, thank you sebel for delivering a 1st class conference.

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights over the Grand Prix and have already confirmed our booking for next year!

The hotel is in the perfect location, right across the road from the track. We were lucky enough to get a room facing the track with the most amazing view. There is also a tram stop 5 minutes from the hotel that takes you right into the city, which we used a few times.

The hotel rooms have just what you need. We stayed in a Sebel Lakeview Room and it was perfect for the two of us. We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times, and took advantage of the seafood buffet on the Friday night, which was exceptional for only $60 per person. The 24 hour room service was great and definitely came in handy after long days at the track. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful with giving us directions and tips on what to see and do in Melbourne as we were only there for a short time.

We are counting down the days until our next stay, and still cannot get over how amazing the view from our room was.

My mum and I spent 2 nights here over the weekend after getting a great deal online. We had a really great relaxing weekend, and I really recommend this hotel, especially if you’re after a quiet, relaxing location.

Its in a great spot at Albert Park, close to Melbourne city but not right in the hussle and bussle – not the best if you want to be right in the centre of the city, but trams couldn’t be closer or easier to catch from here. We had a car, and it was really easy to get around from the hotel. Parking is a little expensive, but we found free parking in the street for weekends so did that instead.

The hotel has a stunning lobby area, and the doormen are really fast to help you out of the car, call a cab, etc. You can tell the hotel has had a big upgrade, but its really nice.

Staff were really fast in getting us checked in, friendly but not too in your face.

The room was a great size for the two of us, with two big spacious beds that were really comfy. Our room was really quiet, except for when some people came back to their room noisily at about 3am on Sunday morning but that’s no big deal, hardly worth mentioning really! We had a nice sleep in both mornings. Very clean, nice big windows and plenty of space. Everything was clean and really well presented. Only thing I found a bit strange was that we hung up our towels so housekeeping wouldn’t bother changing them, but they gave us extra ones anyway. Again, really minor detail but we benefited from extra towels so not even an issue.

We ate at the Windows restaurant on Friday night. We passed up on the Seafood buffet (what was on offer looked FANTASTIC) and had a la carte instead and we were both really impressed with the food. Fresh and tasty. Breakfast was expensive, but most hotels seem to have this kind of expense so we chose to head out for a late breakfast elsewhere.

I had intended to have a swim but didn’t get time in the end. The pool and spa facilities were great, and the park over the road was really enticing for a morning walk if you were here for a few days.

All up we were really impressed and had a lovely weekend. Would definitely stay here again, and have already been recommending it to others!

Room Tip: Park on the street on weekends - its free

Came here for a conference in 2011. While the rooms and facilities were lovely, the prices blew me away. $35 for a hot breakfast? $25 for toast and cereal? Not worth it.

We stayed here for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. I can only explain this hotel as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Our bed was so hard I was practically crippled the next day. I had to complain as we were to stay a further four nights and couldn't sleep there otherwise. They put a "pillow top" on our bed which helped but not much. You cannot adjust the air conditioning temperature and we were boiling hot all night. The room clean each day was only just tolerable. One day they didn't leave us with any towels. The next day they left us with no toilet paper (even took the spare roll away). Very minimal tea and coffee was supplied (not enough really). If you get the picture, you will see that we will never stay there again.

After reading the many reviews on Tripadvisor we were a little reluctant to book this hotel. My partner and I had a great stay.
We booked a Sebel Room which was on a high floor and fab views of the lake and ocean, the room was generous in size and had every thing we expected of a 4.5 star hotel, whilst the room is not brand new it was clean and in good order.

We found the concierge on arrival very friendly and provided us with parking options and assisted us with our bags,we were impressed. The check in was quick and informative and we were sold the buffet breakfast at check in at a discount, we recommend taking this option as it saved us $10, and the breakfast buffet had everything you could imagine even an asian selection.

We chose to eat in the hotel on the Friday night in Windows restaurant at the Seafood Buffet, great quality fresh seafood and so many salads and hot dishes, we could not resist the dessert selection in particular the chocolate fountain and ice cream bar.....yum.

We would choose this hotel again, great location for us as we wanted to do some shopping in the city and we chose to take the tram which was located at the back of the hotel and concierge sold us the tram tickets and we could charge to our room plus we had made arrangements to meet friends for dinner at St Kildare and again took the tram that was a 5mins.

The staff were very friendly and efficient and we found the hotel to be good value for money, we will be back.
