“Location good - rooms noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

One must remember the price one pays to stay here and on that note - the hotel itself is fine. The refurbished rooms are nice - particularly the bathroom with the older rooms definitely feeling dated. It will be decent when the renovations are complete. The rooms themselves however are pretty small and moving around can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. They were clean though - the most important thing.

We had just one issue whilst staying here and that was being able to hear the room above - all toilet noises, running water, pipe expansion - the whole lot. My room was the worst out of the 3 we had. I was moved to an unrenovated room by a rather non-blase reception staff member and whilst the problem still existed, it wasn't as bad. Management did send me a bottle of wine as a gift however and this was a very nice touch and much appreciated.

The location is hard to beat and for the price, you won't find anything in Melbourne that will match it. So despite the short comings, if you're on a budget, give it a shot.

my child and I stayed in a room as it was close to hospital were we had appointment we are from tas, The shower was terrible no pressure and went boiling hot then freezing. The heating was also terrible although I had reverse cycle on 30 it did not seem to blow out heat we were freezing through night and even with the extra blanket in cupboard. This is not 4 star as was not in best condition and I found sanitary packet near bin on floor in bathroom. I informed reception when leaving and she said she new heating a problem(never told me when booking in) but would report that and shower problem. I did not receive discount or anything. Will not stay again or suggest that anyone else do either.

Room Tip: Get somewhere else or ask to see the actual room before paying

The location was great for what we wanted, the bed cover had stains on it, the service provided by everyone was great, a little overpriced for the room, but otherwise comfortable. The lift was out of order at times, and just finishing chemotherapy I was not up to taking the stairs up 11 flights of stairs. the bed & pillows were comfortable.
