“Great value, location and staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

I stayed in the Crossley in September with my husband and 2yo son for 4 nights. We upgraded our package to a larger room and were extremely impressed with the size of the room. It comfortably held a king size bed, cot, lounge suite, entertainment unit, cupboards and a kitchenette (which was essential travelling with a toddler) and still plenty of room to move around.
We were pleased to be provided with a cot with bedding at no charge, and my parents had booked into the hotel under a separate booking but the hotel put us all on the same floor without asking. That is the kind of small detail which impressed us.
The Management and Owners of the hotel should take note that their staff are truly the best asset of the hotel. They were always polite and extremely helpful, offering to carry bags (and prams!) up the front steps for you. anything you asked, they could help you with!
The hotel is quite compact and a bit dark, but it's tucked in the CBD in the most awesome location, right in the heart of chinatown! We were very pleased the location.
It can get a touch noisy in the early mornings with the sound of garbage trucks, but apart from that, the bed was amazingly comfortable and I adored the fresh clean sheets daily. The block out blinds were out of this world. Our son required a day sleep and we just shut the blinds in the middle of the day and you would have thought it was midnight. This was also helpful at night when the 'Gingerboy' sign lit up in the alley adjacent our room (a bright red neon sign which I found quite endearing).
The bathroom was slightly dated and very small for the size of the room, with no bath. My parents had a standard room and had a bath?
I was very happy with my stay and would definately recommend. thanks to the lovely concierge staff at The Crossley.

“Very comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

I would highly recommend the Crossley for its position and excellent standard of rooms, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. They took care of parking the car and it was waiting at the door for us as we were checking out. We had booked three rooms for six guests in total and we were all on the same floor which was excellent planning. Would definitely stay there again.

“Clean, quiet and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

We stayed at the Crossley for one night, in a standard double room which was clean, quiet and comfortable. The room overlooked an alley off Little Bourke Street and consequently we had no traffic noise. Very good value relative to other hotels in the CBD. We hope to stay there again next time we are in Melbourne. (Great down-to-earth coffee shop, "Le Petit Cafe", across the road.)

“Well run and great location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

This is a very reasonably priced hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We were two small groups (mothers and daughters) so booked one of the suites with 2 bedrooms which suited us perfectly.
It is not high design but rather very functional and comfortable.
The hotel is very close to Chinatown and a very short walk to the laneway culture and the rest of the CBD. The trams were also very accessible so getting around Melbourne was easy.

Room Tip: We were in room 601 which had the 2 bedrooms on a second level with the living area downstairs. This...

“Convenient Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012 via mobile

Quite impressed with this hotel. Happy, helpful and efficient staff who allowed us to check in after we arrived early as our room was ready. Hotel is across the road from Her Majesty's Theatre and surrounded by excellent restaurants. Can highly recommend Kri Kri Greek Restaurant 2 doors up. An added bonus is free wifi which worked well in our room 512. The hotel is looking a little tired...worn carpets and thin towels...but the service and convenience far outweighed this. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.
