The licorice all sort stools and wire mesh horse welcome you in. The padded lift strange in a good way.

Free mini bar and snack jar on counter. Heaven.

Loved this place. It's different and that's fun for a change. Very clean and we'll maintained. Want to return here at some stage.

Dear Wayne T,

An emphatic thank you for your generous words. We are delighted that our aesthetic approach and the delectable sweeties were well received. Neville (the wire mesh horse) also appreciates the mention!

The Adelphi team (including Neville) collectively look forward to your return to our boutique little nest.

Sincerely,
Elena

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a weekend in the city to celebrate our birthdays and use a gift voucher for Supernormal we had received from our kids! We often treat ourselves to weekends in our home city but usually stay at the Crown a Metropol. Because we were dining at Supernormal, we decided to go 'boutique' this time as the Adelphi is just across the road and it had come highly recommended by my daughter!

Whilst my favourite boutique hotel in Australia is still The Establishment Hotel in Sydney, the Adelphi certainly did not disappoint. We opted for a Flinders King Room which was a large corner room on Flinders Lane with lots of windows and certainly a lot more light than I expected given the lane location. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming and the drink on arrival, and the complimentary dessert to celebrate our birthdays at Om Nom, that we took advantage of after our dinner at Supernormal, were nice touches.

However, I was disappointed to find that we had been allocated a room on the lowest level of the hotel as I was fearful of the excessive noise at night and in the morning.
My fear was unfounded as we unexpectedly slept in on a busy Monday morning. The blackout curtains certainly did there job and we couldn't even hear the pedestrian and road traffic on Flinders Lane!

We will definitely be back again!

We stayed here in April 2015 for our wedding anniversary. The staff are very warm and the greeting lovely, including the welcome drink. Others have raved about the included mini bar and the lab treats - and agree, all great touches. Bed was very comfortable, hotel quiet and room size large (we had a comfy king). This hotel was central to everything that is great about Melbourne.

My only suggestions for improvements would be that they have a shower cap in the bathroom and do something about the 'free' wifi speed, it was useless.

Breakfast was average. Our breakfast was half cold by the time it came out, we had to ask for cutlery and the condiments we had requested already when ordering. I acknowledge they were busy but for $18 bacon and eggs I expected better - I would head outside the hotel for breakfast next time.

Overall, lovely stay, would stay again.

Dear Flipfeet11,

The Adelphi Team genuinely thank you for your earnest feedback and we are relieved that the less preferred aspects of your experience did not hamper your entire stay.

I have passed on your valuable insight and suggestions to the relevant departments, who will assuredly consider your annotations constructively.

We are also in the process of modifying the breakfast menu and it would please me greatly if you would consider partaking in a complimentary breakfast for two during your next stay.

The team would love the opportunity to welcome you again and please be sure to contact myself directly so that I may personally ensure that your future visit surpasses the former.

Earnestly,
Elena

Location - cannot get better. On Flinders lane, walking distance to most great restaurants, attractions.
Service - Outstanding. When I checked in, I requested for concierge on 3 things - car rental, Phillip island and day trip to Great Ocean. The next day, reception called to confirm all 3 items. Car rental was done by them and so were the other 2.
Room - Nice large room with nice amenities, some free snacks and mini bar. Coffee machine is great. Amazing coffee.

The best thing about the Adelphi is the location. Located on Flinders Lane in the CBD, you’re within blocks of many stylish restaurants and cafes, shops, sites, Melbourne’s laneways, and the tram on Flinders Street. Plus the river is close by, which makes for very nice strolling or having a drink or meal along the water. The service at the hotel also was very good – warm welcome with champagne. We had a king room which was very large, clean and modern, but pretty basic. The window opens straight onto an office building. There’s no bathtub. However, the hotel has free movies you can order straight to the TV, free gourmet candy and water/juice from the minibar. Wifi was included. There’s a long narrow pool on the roof deck (too cold to use in April when we were there), and guests can park in the garage next door for $16/day. Overall a very convenient choice for staying in central Melbourne (a city that we loved visiting!).

Greetings nwilkins,

Indeed our convenient location is a primary factor when considering staying within the Melbourne CBD and the team are pleased that the locale suited your central traversing excursions.

Where we are perhaps deficient in peripheral views, we passionately compensate within our interior boutique ambience.

We thank you for taking the time in writing your review and be sure to try our Plush King and Flinders King room types, which host a set bathtub; just lovely to relax in after a dedicated day out.

Best,
Elena

The Adelphi was a good quality boutique hotel. The room was large and very comfortable, there was a delicious assortment of candy to feast on, the pool and deck on the rooftop have great views of Melbourne CBD, the staff are always happy to help and a pleasure to deal with. I really can't fault the place on anything!

The Adelphi Hotel is a unique hotel and is best suited for those looking for a different experience. The hotel is blessed with marvellous sculptures and artwork in the foyer. You are greeted at reception on arrival with a big smile and a complimentary drink. A very nice start start to our visit. The room was a King Room and is large and very well appointed. Wifi is free, as is the chocolate basket, coffee machine and drinks (non alcoholic) in the bar fridge. Again a very nice touch. The breakfast is off the menu avoiding the dreadful buffets that seem to dominate in hotel world - and it is good. Coffee is great. It is hard to fault the Adelphi, other than most of the rooms do not have a view, and the rooftop pool area needs some serious renovation - but for us, in Melbourne, at Easter, the rooftop pool didn't matter much. Well done

Hello RonM894,

Thank you very much on behalf of the Adelphi Team for your considered review. We are delighted that our affable staff, the delicious food and boutique touches were to your liking.

We are presently in the process of council approved renovations to the pool deck area which will be commencing during the winter months this year; we will confirm dates on our website in the coming weeks.

The team are thrilled that the rejuvenation of the hotel rooftop pool is dawning and we can’t wait for the re-emergence of our iconic feature.

Warm Regards,
Elena
