We were lucky enough to stay at Adelphi for our Christmas party. Upon arrival I was greeted with a welcoming smile. The decor was beautiful and stylish with missoni inspired carpets. In addition the room was filled with complimentary yummy treats and beverages. The service was warm and welcoming. Loved the full experience at Adelphi, will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Corner Suites are large, sunny and beautifully designed

This is an unjustifiably expensive place which takes too much and gives too little. Movies there but unopenable, showers shockingly regulated, bedlinen horrid and the pool?? > couldn't find anything like the photo shop pictures of a pool. One bedside choc for double occupancy says it all ...

Good Morning Andrew,
Thank you for your feedback and I am very sorry to hear your expectations were not met on this occasion.
My team are always here to assist our guests in every way possible, so if any of these issues were brought to our attention during your stay, I can guarantee you, they would have been resolved immediately.
We act promptly on every bit of feedback we receive. On this occasion, we checked your shower and found no issues with it & of course we will continue to monitor this.
There are no photo-shopped images of the pool anywhere. What you see is what you get.
I apologise for the movie system connectivity. We noticed the cable was unplugged at the wall, so this was re-plugged in and is working as it should. Housekeeping check the TV's are all working prior to our guests arrival, however it would appear this could have been missed.
The bed linen we are now using at Adelphi was thoughtfully selected because of its high thread count and comfort. It is used in a few selected 5 star hotels around Melbourne. Perhaps because is it all brand new it may need to be laundered a few more times. I will pass your feedback to our linen supplier and continue to monitor others feedback.
On turndown, our chef prepares one of her delicious macarons per person as indicated in the room booking. I note in your reservation, it showed that one person was staying in the room, however this should have been confirmed during your check-in process and amended accordingly.
If you would like to contact me directly, I am always happy to make up for your bad experience as best as I can. Perhaps I can send you a box of those Macarons.
Thanks again for your feedback and I do hope we can accommodate you again.
Regards,
Dion

We had a great stay at the Adelphi. Close to the galleries, funky laneways and great restaurants and shopping - it was perfect! It is unique in the sense it doesn't have the predictable hotel decor - it felt more like a boutique hotel in Europe. The room lighting was gorgeous, the bed was super comfy and the hotel location generally quiet. It doesn't have the opulence of some of the other city hotels but we didn't care.

The staff were attentive and fantastic in every way. The dessert menu looked awesome but we didn't get to take advantage of it after filling up at ChinChins up the road.

If you want to try somewhere different, stay here!

Room Tip: There are some great deals on at the moment! Choose the carpark next door and let the staff know - w...

Thanks Boodimaloodi,
It's great to read reviews such as this in what is still the very early stages of our new life at the Adelphi. In particular the kind words about the team. They are our greatest asset and all are thrilled to be receiving feedback such as yours. What we lack in opulence we are aiming to make up for with service to match our great location.
Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back soon,
Lance

I stayed one night at the Adelphi this week with my wife. It has just re opened, with new owners. The refurbishment is edgy and contemporary. The reception, bar and restaurant offers great food and drinks, with an excellent desert menu, great service and a calm and sophisticated ambience.
The bedrooms are out of this world and refreshingly unique. It's a must stay.

Thanks Bob B B,
It is great to read feedback such as this. We are very proud of the recently reopened Adelphi and experiences such as what you enjoyed with your wife are what we are striving to provide. I look forward to extending another 'out of this world' room to you both again soon.
Kind regards,
Lance

This hotel exceeded all expectations! The location is amazing, the rooms are amazing, the staff were absolutely lovely and all the amenities/ facilities were just great!! The design of the hotel is really funky and for the price we paid we were extremely happy! Make sure you check out the roof top pool if you stay here, the only thing that could improve this hotel would be a hot spa beside the pool. Thanks!

Hi Betho88,
Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much and thank you for sharing your experience. Like yourself, the team here are very excited about our great little hotel and your kind words have been shared with them. We have aimed for amazing with regards to the rooms here at Adelphi so it's great to hear you feel the same. I must say, the hot spa is a great idea and worth some consideration for our full rooftop renovation in winter 2014. Watch this space :)
Thanks again,
Lance

Happy to see that with a little TLC, the Adelphi looks and feels the part of its inner city location.

The refurbishment is a welcome move away from the old and very tied industrial look to warmer tasty interiors. Sure, there is still some of its original features in the room, in particular the bathrooms, but its homely and welcoming and I love it!

They also do great desserts (they are now a dessert hotel).......and the turndown service is a macaroon, divine.

The amenities are Appelles and are seriously fantastic - gotta love aussie products in aussie hotels!!

Not the cheapest place, but got a great deal, and I wasn't disappointed. The location is great with Chin Chins down the road and don't forget the Meatball & Wine co. The room was amazing. All the modern facilities you want. Initially the light in the tea/bar fridge cupboard did not work, but they quickly fixed it up. I ordered dine in breakfast and was impressed. Great espresso coffee also, to kick start my day. It's such a modern arty hotel and when you get to the rooftop on a summers day with the lap pool...wow! The sauna and steam room is great, and you can Bol the steam room for you and your partner if you want privacy. I will definitely stay there again.

Anna, thank you very much for your review.
I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your recent experience with us!
I have immensely enjoyed managing Adelphi and its amazing surroundings so much so that I recently bought it with two highly talented and passionate business partners.
We have decided to close its doors for a short period while we renovate, modernise and revitalise "her".
We will still keep the best elements like the great espresso coffees, free high speed internet, steam room and rooftop pool and we will be upgrading the public areas & furnishings to make it an even better experience for our guests. (Minibar/cupboard lights will be fixed, I promise).
Like kids in a candy shop, we really cant wait to re-open Adelphi, however we will have to wait for a little bit longer. We are thinking June/July 2013 at this stage.

We will launch our new website in a few weeks so you can view the progress.

Best Regards,
Dion
