3+ stars, mostly for location. If you can get a deal, then worth staying here, because it's quite central to everything. The bed is really comfortable and the room large. However, the decor is modern and stark. There's no warmth to it at all. The bathroom is confusing. The shower is open (why this trend?) which meant that water got everywhere and we had to wipe down the floor so as not to slip after getting out. While it's nice that the vanity was large, when you can't use half of it without your things getting wet when someone showers, it kind of defeats the purpose. The lack of fan in the bathroom didn't help. Wifi is available only in the lobby area.
After walking around Melbourne in 40 degree heat, by husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing dip in the pool. We were shocked to see that it was a crowded and happening "scene" on an early Sunday evening and, being only in our early-mid 30s, we brought the average age up by a good 5-8 years. Needless to say, it was not the relaxing environment we had envisioned.
Would I stay again? For $200 or less, absolutely, because the location can't be beat.
